@niccruzpatane Those are minor trade offs which will only be reduced over time as battery tech gets better. Also, you managed to forget that brake dust, which actually impacts air quality, is far worse with ICE cars due to regenerative braking. I barely ever touch my brake pedal.

@niccruzpatane I have a 1999 Lexus GS300 156,000 miles drives like a dream. 1979 Toyota pickup with Original motor Never needs anything but the key to start. If you’re 12v dies the Tesla will brick itself and you will have to pay for a service station visit.

Thats exactly it. The only reason why electric cars won’t succeed is because their range is shit and you need ages to recharge and you have no charging network. Make 1000 km range battery and 5 minutes recharge, then you win.

This is a stupid argument. The fact still is that gas stations are way more common and refilling takes less than 60 seconds. You can’t beat this convenience. Besides, electric vehicles are NOT any cleaner if you’re getting the electricity from coal burning power plants.

This is a perfect argument in every world except the one we actually live in. Electric cars have been "the future" since 1832 but still we drive cars powered by petrol and diesel. It's almost as if petrol and diesel cars are better somehow.

He left off the thing they always leave off…. Cost. If EV’s cost less no one would have to convince anyone. But even AFTER subsidies they are more expensive. This is the same logic that has us building wind and solar. Everything is FREE so just do whatever.
