This is the reason why Gen-X isn't worried about climate change...🤷♂️

"Last Time?" Which one?

Time Magazine, April 8, 1977. Mother Earth's got moods. Gen X knows to just deal with it.

Y2K it was horrible. All the paperwork. All the reports. All the information we had to provide the US Government to prove we were prepared for the disaster the year 2000 at 12AM would be. Can you imagine being the original idiot that believed everything would crash and convinced the government it would ... and then it didn't?

She's funny, but there was plenty of software that needed to be change for Y2K. If you weren't involved, you wouldn't know or appreciate the amount of work. The next big "time problem" will be in 2038 when 32-bit Unix style clocks overflow.

I worked in IT during the Y2K “end of the world” chaos. Us nerds were so popular for a minute then when it was fixed everyone thought it was a false alarm-no, just fixed it 😂

😂🙈

@PeriklesGREAT “…we woke up and we weren’t even dead…” 😵

Not just 2000 but 2012 then 911 AND climate change! By the time 2020 hit I was like F U. I'm not putting a mask on or getting vaccinated or hoarding toilet paper. Most genX have realized the Elites are a bunch of satanic pedos trying to take over the world.

Greatest global scam of Gen-X’s lifetime.

@Cat5SMASHICANE Yeah they lied. My poor grandma was worried about it. I told her don’t worry about it because that’s what they wanted her to do. DemonCrats should be jailed…

Best party ever.

Between Y2K, the invasion of Grenada, and having to drink from the garden hose, you young people have NO idea what GenX has lived through...

Have I told you the one about the “hole in the ozone layer”?

I think the whole climate thing lost credibility with Thunberg. The US coasts were supposed to be underwater in a matter of a few years. And my feet are still dry.

@Wildnfree1984 You could practically hear the collective “you can’t say that” gasp just before she dropped the punchline.

Bermuda Triangle, quick sand, and the ozone layer. It’s no wonder we don’t listen anymore.

Put @robbiewilliams on 🤣🤣🎵

I'm older than that. They tried nuclear war scare tactics first. Then AIDS (I still recall the vast tombstone marching towards us all in the ads), then acid rain. Then they invented global warming, until it didn't warm so called it climate change. Now I think we're back to Russia

For me, it's because we say Leonard Nimoy on TV telling us there was an ice age coming. I'll never believe a climate prediction again after that.

I rang in 2000 at a party jamming Prince at midnight. Party like it’s 1999. I don’t guess anything happened. Was all good when I woke up on Jan 3 😂😂

"But nothing happened." And do you know why? Not because it wasn't a problem - it was, and it was real. But because a lot of IT people worked overtime to fix it. How about we do the same with climate change? Fix the goddamn issue.

@ICKYZ0 Also, we all saw that Al Gore movie. And then saw none of those things happen.

To be fair, an awful lot of time and effort was put into cleaning up the bugs in the leadup to 2000.

@RealLTCRicBosi @TranslateMom português 🇧🇷🙏🏻

@mollie_don We don’t do bull chit . We been hearing that lefty bull chit so long we know it all bull chit

😂🤣

@CNforUSA Great!!

GenX was told that they might die due to: -WW3, either from a nuc at home or on the front lines in Germany -Overpopulation -Radiation from the missing ozone layer (I think that was actually fixed (?)) -Multiple economic downturns, compete with Boomers for jobs -Global warming +

Hahaha

We were paid hundreds for working that night

She's got great delivery :)

Oh she didn’t even mention GLOBAL COOLING…look it up that was a thing under Clinton’s presidency

There’s truth to that. When they started hyping COVID, I thought about swine flu and Ebola. We’ve learned that the people who claim the sky is falling are liars.

I also remember the ozone hole and faintly acid rain! The internet is definitely their enemy

She’s right. I remember all that.
