Our first test flight is just the beginning! Behind the scenes, we are focused on up-scaling and improving our technology. We are excited to announce that we have successfully tested the central subsystem of our Helix 2.0 oxygen-rich staged-combustion engine: the powerpack. We have performed two successful hot-fire tests in which we have shown steady-state operation and cavitation limits. The powerpack incorporates the turbopump and pre-burner(s). It is the most complex as well as the most mechanically and thermally stressed subsystem of a staged-combustion engine. This milestone validated key technological challenges, such as the simultaneous ignition of multiple pre-burners and turbopump cavitation performance. The results are in-line with the predictions from our design models. The closed-cycle architecture of Helix allows us to push the performance envelope further: Helix 2.0 is designed to deliver double the thrust (200kN), while mass, production technology and costs remain comparable to Helix 1.0. Stage 2 testing is officially underway at NASA Stennis 🚀 The campaign kicked off with successful cryoproof, loading the stage with cryogenic fluids and pressurizing it beyond expected flight loads to validate its structural integrity, followed by COPV manifold proof testing to verify the high-pressure system that will pressurize propellants during flight. These tests also marked the activation of A2, bringing together the infrastructure, flight hardware, ground and vehicle software, and the integrated team of test, launch, and vehicle engineers. Next up: hot fire capable assembly work, then back to the stand ahead of stage hot fire testing. 🔥

Nazar is a real thing! A few days ago I uploaded a picture of this car, and just after driving it for 2–3 days, the E20 petrol completely messed up the fuel system. The fuel pump gave up, the tank had to be drained, and now the engine has started misfiring with rough, unusual idling something that never happened before. This is a 1997 inline-4 petrol engine, and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen it behave like this. The older the vehicle, the more severe the impact of E20 seems to be. You’re ruining perfectly good cars, Gadkari. This has gone too far.😌🙏🏻 Nitin Gadkari

A family is cruising their small motorized boat along the edge of a busy dock. The engine is still running when a sudden miscalculation, or maybe a quick throttle mistake, sends the boat lurching forward. It slams and wedges under the bow of a much larger yacht. Instead of shutting the motor off immediately, the kids rush to the front, trying to push the massive boat away while the engine hums behind them. Honestly, when machinery is involved, panic can make a bad situation worse in seconds. Turning off the engine, securing the boat, and reassessing would likely do more than all the pushing in the world. Sometimes, control starts with one simple action stop. In a moment like that, shouldn’t the first instinct be to cut the motor before anything else?

i gave bonsai, 3.9 gb model one spec to build a working rotary engine autonomously, using hermes agent. all on rtx 3060ti 8gb. watch it go from a black canvas to a running wankel. the epitrochoid housing, a triangular rotor turning at exactly a third of shaft speed, three chambers firing intake, compression, power, exhaust, and ten geometry tests it had to pass to count as done. a provably correct simulation, not a drawing. then i left it alone and it worked. wrote the code, ran its own tests, hit failures, read them, fixed its own lines, until the engine spun and all ten went green. a real agent loop, and i watched every step. it broke three times getting here and clawed back every one. that honest part is in the reply. and this is a sneak. i've been building a show around runs exactly like this, and it's almost ready. more very soon. just getting started.
