Kenya's odious debt is an illustration of cases around the world whereby consultants from multinational corporations identify developing countries with something of value, such as minerals, and persuade the authorities of these countries to secretly take on huge... development loans with banks. In most cases, the money never reaches the countries. Rather, the money is transferred directly from the banks to offshore accounts of these crooks and the countries are then left with massive debts. Resources and companies from developing countries are given as collaterals for these loans. Therefore, the resources that countries should use to invest in development are transferred to service these odious debts. This is what is happening in this country. We are being overtaxed to pay debts we never saw. Debts which never passed through the Consolidated Fund and are not documented. Debts that went through individual accounts. The killer regime is now selling state parastatals in the name of servicing these debts which we never saw. Over Ksh 6.8T is undocumented, untraceable and there's no proof that we received such money. Basically, we are being turned into slaves at the expense of a few crooks.
