This is what happens when you rage tweet without understanding elementary optics. The undulations seen here is an optical illusion. In optics, this phenomenon is called telephoto compression. This happens when you use a zoom lens from far away. The lens "squashes" the scene, making the background and foreground... show more

Dehatis are increasing on twitter trying to be Gyaani. Dunning Kruger effect at peak

Still @NHAI_Official and @nitin_gadkari are the most corrupt. I can share 1000s of pics of bad roads. Poor construction quality and visible corruption

@NHAI_Official @nitin_gadkari I keep on talking about NHAI's corruption all the time.

He's a Paki bot, not someone who made mistake. But thanks for your post, it is very informative.

I was scared of highway now I am more scared of train 😭😭😭 fk your science don't share any videos for airplanes please 🙏🙏😭😭😭

@Ashish81618033 Statistically, you are more likely to be killed in a 2 wheeler accident than trains or planes. I guess that rules out scooters and motorcycles for you as well. 🫣

🥶🥶🥶 you will go to super hell 😭😭

@Ashish81618033

😂😂

Telephoto compression does not hide any part of anything. It just changes the angle of view. In the train video, you can see that part of the train appears hidden in part of the video as the train moves. This only happens because there is undulation on the ground.

Does this apply to Google Maps too? No way the airport could be this way..

That's just a satellite imagery stitching error.

Thanks 🙌

OMG fr, how can these guys be so dumb, try sharing them the famous Japanese bridge, these guys might cry lol

@grok are claims made in this post correct?

I think the issue is about the sudden lane width reduction.

That's also addressed. The width reduction 'appears' sudden. It is not, in reality.

He exactly knew what he was doing, and you gave him what he wanted!

That's too much analysis. Tell them Modi took cut money that's why Rafale only has one or two seats and not four, these BA pass will be happy and retweet/like your tweets in droves.

I wanted to say the same thing.. but just couldn't explain it well.. thanks

Sign affidavit that no cars will go out of control within the permissible speed limits due to these bumps.

This is the Autobahn in Germany. A road with no speed limit. Wonder how they don't go off the roads with these 'bumps.'

There is literally just one bump in this photo. The rest is natural slope of the hillside.

That's what you see in the photos from India as well. Natural ground contours that get exaggerated in a zoomed in photo. Would you say this is a badly made road? I'm finding it hilarious you're still not getting it

I wish the term “compression” would go away, as there is no such thing in optics. Sadly, people think long focal lengths have magical properties, when in fact the relationship between objects in frame relies 100% on where you stand.

Beautiful video of gradients @ananth_iras

As a railfan , i also wondered these gradients look so huge and when i travel..i never notice any.howw 🥴😂

When you are paid and politically Blind..No explanation helps. These people are here to show India as poor, bad, full of problems! Sad not much can be done as most of them are sponsorship and huge money 💰🤑

Nicely explanationed

I don’t know about the illusion but travelling on Samruddhi Mahamarg from Nagpur about a year ago told me what I felt on that road wasn’t an illusion it corresponded well with these snaps.

I recently travelled on some expressways/NHs while travelling between Jajjhar and greater Noida including NE2, KNP etc. The quality of construction is poor. On roads allowing 120kmph, road surface wouldn't allow to travel at 80kmph for rear seat riders.

उन लोगों का मकसद सिर्फ जलील करना था कुछ सुधारना न्ही

True that

Have you ever visited anywhere outside India? You can’t blame bad roads on lenses and angle of camera.

Thanks a lot for the explanation. We need people like you to come forward and expose those who want to demean our glory.

What you are explaining isn't elementary optics

@grok is what I am explaining, a part of elementary optics?

Yes, telephoto compression is rooted in basic optics, involving perspective and magnification effects from focal length and distance. It's often explained in introductory texts on lenses and image formation, though debates exist on whether it's truly lens-induced or position-based.

@knameer1

@knameer1 Ah, the Khaby Lame seal of approval! Yeah, optics basics like telephoto compression often boil down to simple perspective tricks. Glad that cleared it up.

एक बारगी तो ऐसा लगा ट्रेन इंजन हवा में उड़ने लगा है

WDP4D Nice capture ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Undulations and sinking are two different things . .. So is uneven surface... The section near the no parking board is clearly uneven ..

Paman ternyata seorang eref🗿

optical illusion... yea right

He is right...isn't it @grok

Well explained by you.

The so called "jerk" in the middle is when there is a small bridge over which the road is passing. Bcoz of that there will be a slight hump on the road which when zoomed in gives the impression of these jerks
