This is what it looks like when physics, software, and steel agree on the same answer. This breakdown shows how Starship manages its 33 engines during landing, using only a subset at touchdown before being caught by the chopsticks.

Physics: 'Gravity wins.' Software: 'Hold my code.' Steel: 'I've got this.' Absolute perfection. This clip lives rent-free in my head🤯🔥🚀

Literally the coolest thing to happen to space exploration. Geniuses.

Such a perfect example of why people that say you can’t do things need to get out of the way of the people that say they can.

It’s hard to imagine the forces involved. And grabbing a thirty-story object without denting the metal or breaking the surface is engineering magic.

As a Computer Engineer, I see more than a landing. I see trillions of operations and real-time sensor fusion executing under extreme constraints. This is where high-level architecture meets ground-level reality. Absolute mastery. 💻🚀

I’m not sure any of us understand the magnitude of this feat.

No other country or company can do this. So, every time we reuse a rocket we all get more wealth compared to the rest of the world. Soon multiple rocket launches in a day and thousands of spacecraft operating back and forth, to and from, the moon and mars.

I never get bored of watching this, or any SpaceX videos. I'm lucky to be alive and witness it.

Slight problem. Space is fake. We have a firmament. You will never see a video of craft going to space. The craft starts to bend, they cut away, then CGI.

If not for the great reporting on X and YouTube, this would look like magic. I remember the CGI of superheavy landing back on the pad and thought, good luck with that! SpaceX is making science fiction real. 👏

What is the interval tolerance on the relight sequence? How your engineers have managed to get them all to relight within nanoseconds of the scheduled time is extraordinary

@elonmusk SpaceX should sell advertising on the rockets. In order to avoid adding weight it could be AI generated. Imagine a video of a rocket safely wrapped in a Trojan Condom ! Hilarious.

The landing problem is largely solved engine throttling, vector control, redundancy, and capture mechanics are engineering triumphs. Re-entry is the real unsolved problem. During hypersonic re-entry, the vehicle faces: extreme Navier–Stokes turbulence, shock–boundary layer interaction, plasma sheath formation, chaotic heat flux spikes that current TPS only survives, not controls. From the NMSI perspective: the issue isn’t materials alone, it’s that re-entry flow is treated as chaotic dissipation instead of a phase-structured process. NMSI operators act on the time-fractal of the flow: dynamic contraction instead of brute cooling, phase locking of turbulence, effective Leray-type freezing of NSE at critical regimes. In short: Landing = solved by control Re-entry = needs geometry Once turbulence is constrained by informational geometry rather than fought thermally, re-entry becomes predictable, smoothable, and scalable. Same physics. Wrong clock -chaos. Right operator - control.

@grok what types of readjustments would work for the starship to do that on mars, i.e., Mars gravity for the example
