I noticed several rocks that got away from the machine, or am I just not seeing things clearly?

Just as good at keeping rocks out as this fence is at keeping people out

I will ask the dumb question. How does it tell a potato from a rock?

Imagine living your whole life underground just to get punted into the ‘you’re a rock, idiot’ pile.

And yet we can't produce a pint of grocery-store raspberries that don't disintegrate before you get them home.

Couldn't they just submerge in water? Potatoes float. Maybe they don't do this for shelf-life reasons if the water makes potatoes rot faster.

Casually misses half the rocks

Lots of rocks getting through.

Potatoes are buoyant. A pool of water would do a better job at a fraction of the cost.

So, we used to do this by hand, in the field as the potatoes are being harvested. Would stand on either side of the conveyer belt as the harvester go through the fields, and remove all debris. Used to work for Hardee farms who made french fries for McCain Foods.

Some rocks are getting through. Are people getting rocks instead of potatoes?

i would think a pool of water would be more than 50% effective.
