This morning’s update: About 20,000 customers remain without power, primarily in the Richmond and Presidio. I have been in touch with community leaders in those neighborhoods and we’re working to bring resources directly to those communities. We will continue to push PG&E for a firm timeline on full power... show more

1. Localize the electrical grid and break from PG&E 2. End the electric stove requirement and fire ban bullshit 3. Regulate Waymo 4. Fix the power grid before ANY upzoning happens

After power is restored, please focus your office on helping #RichmondDistrict residents file our claims for ruined food, dry ice and necessary restaurant meals. I am told the process is difficult. Thank you. @PGE4Me #blackout

They’re saying it may not be restored until Tuesday now? This doesn’t make any sense. How does a fire at a Mission substation affect homes furthest away the most? Please push them harder. At this point, financial incentives should be given to those affected.

According to someone on Reddit who asked a firefighter, the cause of the substation fire was rainwater entering the substation through a door and causing arcing and related damage. Seems like the first power outage happened before so it might be a different problem. It sounds like the kind of thing that might take a while to fix, especially if equipment replacement is necessary. Thankfully my area got power back in the evening, but unfortunately this is a predictable and preventable PGE moment.

In the Richmond and still no power 🪫 First to lose power and will be the last to get power back 😞 I trust that you're doing everything to keep these folks accountable 🙏🏻

Dawg I’m on the 18th floor of a building in soma… this is awful. I need power back. I just want to shower and flush my toilet

Waiting for the ice truck to pull up. Still waiting you little loser. Way to be in touch with community leaders. We don’t have any by the way. Jesus, diminutive one, stop being such a POS.

@SF_emergency Don’t forget about the Sunset - many blocks also still without power

You Democrats are all stupid morons, and the people need to have Republican leadership in all your cities to clean them up🤨

San Francisco 2025, can't even keep the lights on.

Why didn’t they work overnight? This is bullshit Mayor. Push harder.

I thought David Chiu likes to sue big evil corporations. Tell David Chiu to stop taking money from PG&E and start suing them

You’re good at fraud but not security. What a waste of time you’ve been Oh yeah and let’s go all electric you asses!

PG&E put electrical equipment was on the ground where it got wet. That’s a basic No No. Now we’ve lost food and work hours. Don’t cover for PG&E. We demand recompense.

@SF_emergency Thank you @DanielLurie disappointing that our supervisor in the Richmond is MIA

Back your face away from the camera. Your beloved Waymo made shit worse all weekend.

Aww you look tired

😂😂😂 "We will continue to push PG&E for a firm timeline on full power restoration..." Why? WHY would you? YOUR bud Gavin has it in hand. Fully.

There was no internet service during the blackout and even cellphone internet was out. How are people supposed to get important information when the internet goes dark? It's completely unacceptable to leave SF residents in the dark with no access to emergency information.

How is this possible in 2025? There should be backup plans that instantly take over in a power outage. Roads, electricity and fuel must be top priority in every state. Our taxes should be used for critical infrastructure.

What an embarrassment .....

Where tf is @conniechansf

I do hope they're working round the clock. It's the weekend before Christmas. Horrible timing. Why aren't they monitoring these substations more frequently? Everyone affected should get, at the very least a $100 credit on their bill, for this massive inconvenience.

Mayor, still no power around Civic Center, going for 24 hours. Direct neighbors of the City Hall. How can this happen in one of the most expensive cities?

@DanielLurie what are we going to do about our spoiled groceries. It’s been over 24 hours without power. All of my groceries from eggs to milk have gone bad. Is there anything the SF or PGE can do to replace those items ? Maybe a gift card for groceries or food pick up location?

This black out is massive I wouldn’t give a precise timeframe either

Who the hell are “community leaders”?

I call bullshit on this one! Systemic negligence and corruption. And this is just a beginning as more and more systems will fail. But don't worry, pge ceo will get his Christmas bonus on time.

@SF_emergency 4 hours later, still no time estimate. So much for pushing harder for that timeline.

Daniel, please hold @PGE4Me accountable, going on for almost a whole day now. Senior mom at home with no heat

Just call Sumeet Singh, the new PG&E CEO. He was just promoted from his COO position. The same dude that oversaw all the exploding transformers, and fires, that we're all paying for. The dude that's raised rates to a level it's equal to your food budget. Singh is a schmuck.

You still have the most expensive & unreliable grid in the USA

Work on Universal Basic Income legislation.

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

@SF_emergency More than 15 hours without an updated timeline from PGE. How are we supposed to plan? Do support stations have ice for perishables? Will we receive compensation for food and emergency amenities like batteries and eating out? Not everyone can just drive to & splurge on services.
