“This problem we are facing as a country originates from our neighbors. It is a problem with history, with politics behind it, and with many unclear elements. For things to become clear, and to give people the direction toward the peace we need, because we truly need peace. I...

YOKO ONO: ONOCHORD, VENICE, 2004 Yoko: The world is divided in two industries. One is the War Industry and the other is the Peace Industry. The people in the War Industry are totally together. They don't have to talk to each other, even. They know exactly what they want to do. They want to go out there, kill and make money. But the people in the Peace Industry, which are us - we are so idealistic that each one of us criticises the other Peace Person in the Peace Industry. And we are always just arguing and we are wasting our energies doing that. So let's just forgive each other and see that we are in the Peace Industry and that's all that counts. Even if you are not marching for peace, just be yourself, being a florist, being a merchant, being a talior, anything. That way you're contributing to the Peace Industry. People are just concentrating on fear, confusion and anger. And therefore just for a moment, I'd like us to think about Love. In a very magical, straight way, John and I met in London and from then on we stood for Peace and Love. And when I do this kind of event. Well it is... I was inspired to do it, but I still think that I'm still with John in spirit. John and I created the country called Nutopia. Not Utopia, because there was Utopia as a concept already. And we wanted to create a new concept, so we just added N on it - Nutopia - and as a country. Well, that is the concept of a country. And we all are citizens of that country. And in my apartment in the Dakota Building, we put a little plaque on the back door, the kitchen door. It says 'Nutopian Embassy' and even now we have that. (laughs). Nutopia exists in our minds. And because of that, some people want to rebel against it. The reason some want to rebel against it is a good proof that it exists. I think that it was a terrible thing that happened in Chechnya. But we have to still keep our hopes up. And instead of giving up, we have to keep on sending the message of Love to each other. You say that I am the Ambassador of Peace. We are all Ambassadors of Peace. You are too. Everybody in this room are Ambassadors of Peace. Just the fact that we are not participating in War. The fact that we are here, and we are what we are, means that we are in the Peace Industry. All of us. John and I used to say that our apartment in the Dakota is a conceptual monastry, just for the two of us. And when we go out of the Dakota, we get so many people communicating with us, so it's very important that we had silence and quietness. And my apartment is a very small space compared to the world. And I need that for my peace of mind. You should be kind to each other. You should come together, hug each other, love each other, express our love to each other and we should make it work. We should finally create a world that is a totally an Earth for Us. So let's do it. "Rwanda was not created by human beings. What created Rwanda is the same power that created the entire world. The One who created the world did not then hand over the power to create Rwanda to other human beings. We are created by the same power that created the whole world. Above all, we want peace and we will strive for it. But anyone who wants peace must also prepare for the opposite of peace. And when the opposite of peace comes, even when it is not what you wanted, what do you do? You put in place the means to withstand it until peace is achieved." President Kagame | Swearing-in Ceremony of Senior Officials.

We are not at war, but we are not at peace either. The good news is that we know what we need to do to protect our people and way of life - now and in the long-term. We just need to do it. And stepping up our #NATO-#EU cooperation is essential.

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić on Serbia's neutral stance: What is it that we have to reproach Ukraine for? They are at war against them. That is why we did not impose sanctions on Russia and why we want peace and we do not want the victory of one side or the other. And we are the only country that wants only peace and nothing more than that. Is my job to protect the interests of Serbia or to protect the interests of all other countries? What is it actually that you want from me?

Walz: "I'll continue to ask you for peace and I know the answer is, 'You ask us for peace and we give it, and we shot in the face on the streets coming out of a donut shop.' We cannot give them what they want ... thank God we have video ... this needs to be the event that says, 'enough'"

🇷🇺 "We don't need anything that belongs to others." Vladimir Putin stated that Russia will only agree to “a peace option that will ensure peace for a long historical perspective.” Today, the President met with the wives of the special operation participants and members of the Fatherland Defenders Foundation. In response to the phrase "we must not give in to anyone, we must go to the end" from the wife of a deceased SVO veteran, Putin spoke about the terms of the ceasefire in Ukraine: "We are not going to do this. We must choose for ourselves a peace option that would suit us and ensure peace for our country for a long-term historical perspective. We need an option that would ensure stable development of our country in conditions of peace and security. We do not need anything that belongs to others, but we will not give up our own either." The president also stated during the meeting that Russia does not send conscripts to combat zones. - FRWL

We are working on the results of our recent negotiations – meetings in Europe and discussions with our partners. I had a conversation with President Biden, and we are preparing for meetings in Ukraine with the American team, including political and military representatives. We are developing our Victory Plan in discussions with our partners. Additionally, preparations for the second Peace Summit – good faith diplomacy – are underway. Our goal is to end the war in a way that guarantees safety and peace for all Ukrainians and for Ukraine as a whole. I am grateful to every leader and every country that has understood our security arguments and is ready to help steer the current situation toward peace.

US President Trump on why there are US troops in Syria: Because we're trying to make sure that there's going to be and remain peace in the Middle East, and Syria is a big part of it. The new leader is a strong person, and that's what you need. We got rid of Assad, we got rid of other people that were really bad people, and that we're in the way of peace in the Middle East. You know, we have legitimate peace in the Middle East, for the first time in 3,000 years.

Ukraine strikes back with precise, targeted attacks, and unlike Russia, we know exactly what we aim to achieve. Peace, of course. We are not waging war for the sake of war, as Russia does. Even Hamas shows deal-making acumen, but not Putin. For now. Together with our partners, we are creating the conditions to compel Russia to peace. And it will happen. We support all global diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace in the Middle East, and we strongly expect that just pressure on Russia will bring peace to Ukraine and to our entire region as well. It is important that the leadership of the United States continue to be effective.

As Arabs, we need to understand that Israel and the West are not our oppressors or enemies. We, Arabs, are our own worst enemies. We, Arabs, are our greatest oppressors. We, Arabs, have killed and oppressed a million times more of our people than the West and Israel can ever do. It is not Israel that married off my mother when she was a child. It is my people who did. It is not the West or Israel that has been bombing Yemen for the past decade and killed 400,000. It is us, Arabs, who did it. It is not the Israel that implanted Islamic extremism in the East and the West. It is our mosques, it is the books we worship, it is the Imams we follow, it is what we learn and what we teach. It is not the West that forces us to treat women like commodities. It is our people. And most of all, it is not the West or Israel that doesn’t value Arab lives. It is us, Arabs, who do not value human life. If we do not admit to ourselves that WE are the problem, that WE are refusing to progress, and that WE need to change – then change will never happen, blood will keep flowing, and we will never know peace. How do we expect the world and the International Community to respect us, when we don’t respect ourselves?

PM Frederiksen: we have to recognize, we have to understand, we have to learn that Russia will not change and they are not interested in peace, unfortunately. Can you imagine? I mean, it's like minus 25 degrees and then you attack the energy system. I mean, it's so crazy that only Russians would do such a thing. But this is how Russia is and it will not change. And I think our problem in Ukraine is still that there are still red lines when it comes to the weapons they can use to win this war. And you cannot win a war with the one hand tied on your back. We need to give them weapons so they can strike into Russia. We have had this discussion for several years. We are still discussing it. I mean, for the last three years on this conference, I have said, why are we not providing them the air defense that they need? And everybody is doing like this. They still lack air defense. You cannot protect a country without air defense. We know exactly what we need to deliver, including, of course, membership of NATO, because if they were a NATO member now, we would be in a completely different situation now. So, we know what to do. But first of all, we have to recognize, we have to understand, we have to learn that Russia will not change and they are not interested in peace, unfortunately.

This is an address to Ukrainian Allies and partners from the frontlines by Andrii Melnyk, a Ukrainian officer. In civilian life, he is a historian and a school principal in Kyiv. ‼️Friends, please listen and share. "There is probably no one in the world who would like to see the war end and peace come as much as the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian military. But we don't dream of peace at any cost, because then these three years will be in vain. We are fighting here not only for our land. We are fighting not only for our families. We are fighting not only for our state. The most important thing for us is values. Values pushed us to fight the enemy. The values of freedom, the desire to live in our own country, the values of being human beings, not slaves. Every day and every minute of this war, we have felt the support of the world, the support of Europe, the support of the West. And we want to say that we are grateful. We know this, but we ask you not to turn your back on us now, because we will not give up our freedom for nothing. We want normal, fair and just conditions of peace. We stand for peace, but for a just peace. We are for an honest peace. And we are ready for it."

I held a meeting with our foreign affairs team. We are planning our international agenda for February. The key priorities are partner unity, which is the foundation of everything, and coordination on the European direction. Everyone on the continent should remember: if global issues are resolved without Europe, it will leave Europe with decisions that most Europeans are certain not to like. This applies, in particular, to matters of war and peace—the war that Russia started and the peace we must force Russia to accept—together. We need to do more together, both for defense and for economic growth.
