Predator is one of those films that, if you happen to come across it while channel surfing, you stop what you’re doing and find yourself watching it to the end *again* That’s how great it is. I have it on Laserdisc, dvd and now, 4K.

The invisibility cloak never looked as good in CG as it did in this movie

So good. I can't imagine a modern film having a shot that is simply the camera travelling through tangled roots in order to build tension. Instead they'd have an elaborate shot of a CGI creature costing $10 million and with zero emotional impact.

I remember my stepfather taking me to the movies to go and see this. I was 14. It was and still is the best movie John McTiernan has ever made. Followed closely by Die Hard.

So genius - even the music - and it's the only film Arnold did where his accent doesn't interfere with the coolness - unique film even after 40 years

This movie is great.

You can easily tell by the fact everything in the shot is real. No green screens, no cgi. Just real effects and forest.

80s were a magical time. Just scored predator 1 & 2 and robocop 1 & 2 (among other awesomeness) in a vhs haul. You need me, imma be watching tapes in the basement till 2041.
