A Zepto delivery worker and his friend were allegedly assaulted by a group of unidentified men in Bengaluru’s Yelahanka New Town after a confrontation over language, according to a police complaint. The delivery executive told police he asked the group to speak in Kannada after saying he did not understand Hindi, following which the situation allegedly escalated and the two men were assaulted with hands and a wooden log. Her name is Raghavi Bala. First of all, thank you for coming from Tamil Nadu to Bengaluru and learning Kannada. She claims that despite paying ₹56,800 in rent, security guards insist on speaking Hindi. At the same time, she appears to be provoking Kannadigas against Hindi-speaking security staff and turning an individual issue into a larger linguistic debate. Our question is simple: Bengaluru has Tamils in large numbers, Kannadigas in large numbers, and people from every part of India. If security staff are creating problems, raise a complaint with the society management. If the issue is serious, move to another society. Why drag Kannadigas into it and generalize the issue? If the same situation had happened in North India, what would you have done? Instead of blaming entire communities or creating hostility between people, focus on the actual problem and hold the individuals responsible accountable. Ather's announcement of the Tamil dashboard (well-timed for Pongal) made me go back to the time when the company announced the launch of its Kannada dashboard, for Kannada Rajyotsava Day on November 1, 2025. The Tamil ad has actor-director Parthiban using his famous Tamil wordplay to talk about Tamil, as a language, and then introducing the scooter's Tamil dashboard, with a nod to his famous 'Dubai Kurukku Sandhu' comedy too :) Parthiban speaks entirely in Tamil, addressing Tamilians directly - understandably so. But interestingly, Kannada actor Ramesh Aravind (who, incidentally, has a sizeable body of work in Tamil cinema too) spoke in a mix of English and Kannada. Ramesh seemed to be addressing more of the non-Kannadiga population than Kannada-speaking, asking people to learn Kannada through small, simple methods using everyday conversation. Why this change? Is it because of Bengaluru's famous cosmopolitan nature, and the predominant grouse of the local population that those who make the city their home do not make an attempt to assimilate into the local culture (with knowledge of Kannada cited as a gateway for such assimilation, even though cultural assimilation can happen in many more ways than just speaking or understanding the language)? But isn't Karnataka much, much bigger than just Bengaluru? Step away from Bengaluru and you would more likely need to understand Kannada for everyday conversations in most other cities in Karnataka. Not very different from stepping away from Chennai, into the many other cities of Tamil Nadu. The other logical miss was the fact that the Kannada dashboard was meant for people who understand, prefer, and love that language. Not those who are learning it (or not) to assimilate into the local culture. Ather anyway has multilingual dashboard; so, someone who lives in Bengaluru and has Hindi as their mother tongue, would rather choose the Hindi dashboard, over the Kannada dashboard. There's no point in addressing them in a mix of English and Kannada, and introducing the Kannada dashboard to them. The assault on an elderly Marathi man by an Ola driver in Thane has turned political. While the two Shiv Sena factions united to track down the driver and thrash him, now the MNS has jumped in and is targeting Ola drivers across Thane. MNS workers were seen stopping taxi drivers, checking their Marathi fluency and beating those who could not speak the local language. MNS leader Avinash Jadhav landed the site of assault and was seen harassing the Ola drivers over the Marathi language issue. MNS leader was also seen slapping cab drivers who could not speak Marathi. The issue has taken a local vs outsider turn as the victim is a Marathi while the taxi driver who beat him is non-Marathi. A video of the Ola cab driver assaulting the old man in full public view had gone viral on social media on Wednesday. The incident took place outside a popular mall when the old man reportedly objected to the taxi driver spitting on the road. An argument followed, and the enraged taxi driver was seen beating the old man while his wife tried to save him. Taxi driver was seen hitting the man with a stone, who fell down on the road and sustained injuries. As Soon as the video circulated on social media, Shiv Sena workers traced the driver, thrashed him and handed him over to the police. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde himself took cognizance of the assault on the elderly man. He released a video directing the Thane Commissioner to book the cab driver for attempt to murder. "If a person is brutally assaulted merely for pointing out that someone is littering, it will not be accepted at any cost," Shinde said. Thane is the stronghold of Eknath Shinde. Following the deputy chief minister's directive, Vartak Nagar Police arrested the accused Ola driver and booked him for attempt to murder.

A shocking incident has come to light from RT Nagar,near the flyover beside the Shell petrol station, where a viral video shows a traffic police officer allegedly assaulting an innocent cab driver over a minor parking issue. According to the video and the message written on it, the cab driver had parked his vehicle for just five minutes when the traffic cop suddenly began shouting and abusing him. Moments later, the officer allegedly slapped and manhandled the driver in full public view.The eyewitness described the incident as “a very bad job from the traffic cop,” condemning the officer’s aggressive and unprofessional behavior. Such actions are not only a gross misuse of authority but also a direct attack on the dignity of ordinary citizens who expect safety from those in uniform. This consistent aggressive and unstable behavior suggests that she may require appropriate professional treatment or intervention from the concerned authorities. Such incidents are tarnishing Bengaluru’s reputation and creating unnecessary tension in the city. It is widely felt that people like her are damaging the name and harmony of Bengaluru. No one invited her to settle here in such a disruptive manner. If her behavior continues to disturb public peace, the most appropriate course of action would be to send her back to West Bengal. I don’t understand what’s happening with some “Lashkar-E-Oolatas” groups these days. The truck driver is from another state and doesn’t even reside in Karnataka, yet some ppl r forcing him to speak Kannada just for publicity. If he had insulted the language or our state, questioning him would make sense but he was simply here to deliver goods. Such actions by a few are only damaging the dignity and true value of Kannada. When we speak politely and respectfully others naturally feel comfortable learning and speaking our language. But incidents like these will only create more problems, not solutions. I currently live in Pune, and many of my colleagues are from Karnataka. We speak Kannada among ourselves, and sometimes others even pick up a few Kannada words. We also communicate in Hindi and the local language, and there’s absolutely no conflict over language. But even here, a few so-called activists keep provoking innocent people unnecessarily. Many of my local colleagues often wonder why some Ji#hadi people don’t communicate in Kannada. Even some colleagues from regions like Bidar aren’t fluent in Kannada, which shows how diverse language use can be.

Road rage incident happened in NALLURHALLI Police limit ACCORDING TO VICTIM It all happened around 8:30 AM this morning in Nallurhalli traffic jam where an auto driver came from wrong lane started argument with our driver. We 3 ladies were in office cab. Then our driver went out and auto driver started the fight. There were many people around as it was jam they tried controlling auto driver. We noticed him going back to his seat and getting METAL RODE from under his seat where other people intervened and stopped him. Auto driver was also having his customer where he was carrying 2 people among whom an old lady was going to hospital. But this auto driver cared nothing in front of fight , took U Turn and all the way followed us to the 4th colleague pickup location. There he stopped us and arguing for 20 mins with our driver, we all were trying to make him stop and also his customer were asking him to stop but he asked him(auto driver customer) to cancel the ride and go. At the end auto driver demanded some money from our driver because seems like he lost his earphone in fight as per him. And our driver paid since he was not leaving without that at all. The auto driver was on wrong lane and he behaved like a proper rowdy/gunda. We noticed him going back to his seat and getting METAL RODE from under his seat where other people intervened and stopped him. Auto driver was also having his customer where he was carrying 2 people among whom an old lady was going to hospital. But this auto driver cared nothing in front of fight , took U Turn and all the way followed us to the 4th colleague pickup location. There he stopped us and arguing for 20 mins with our driver, we all were trying to make him stop and also his customer were asking him to stop but he asked him(auto driver customer) to cancel the ride and go. At the end auto driver demanded some money from our driver because seems like he lost his earphone in fight as per him. And our driver paid since he was not leaving without that at all. The auto driver was on wrong lane and he behaved like a proper rowdy/gunda. This is how fake narratives are created by manipulating incidents: Propaganda: An auto driver in Nagpur molested two teenage girls and threatened to do the same sort of things with them which happened in #KolkataDoctorDeathCase Truth: The girls were talking loudly about a climate change seminar while sitting in the auto which annoyed the driver and he asked them to not speak so much and so loud in the auto sitting behind him. That led to a heated argument and the girls asked him to stop the auto. Then few SIMPS joined the argument and assaulted the Auto Driver. At Police Station the Police made the Auto Driver apologise to the girls and the matter got settled amicably. PS: No action was taken by the Nagpur City Police against the girl or these SIMPS who publicly assaulted, abused and humiliated the Auto Driver. After all he is a Man and in this country Law and Society is there just to protect a Woman.

Auto drivers stopped using meter in Bengaluru. So Ola, Uber, Namma Yatri, Rapido etc came to solve this problem. Now, they cannot burn cash further, so price eventually went higher than meter. Now, there is an app launched which searched for auto drivers ready to put meter 😆😆 Nagara Meter Auto & Taxi Wonderful initiative in my opinion, if it works well. Government can use 0.00001% of the 2 Lakh Crore per month GST it collects to build an app to penalize unfair auto drivers. Simply launch an app where a customer can upload video of driver not putting meter and linking it to an auto number plate. Government can put a penalty on any driver who does not put meter. As simple as that. Share this until it reaches every citizen, auto driver and government official. Tag them... #FI
