So sick. I remember the parking lot was filled to the brim with people looking for tickets once the Billy rumor started flying around. I think I missed the first song of the first set because we couldn't find parking.

Still bummed over missing this. I remember the news spread online during the show the night before, which I was at, so by the time I was out and looking at my phone the tickets were all scooped up :/

IIRC, there were a ton of tickets on the ground that Friday/Saturday (I guess people didn't want to see Phil? RIP) and then yeah, by Sunday morning it was the hardest ticket in town. I was pissed we got to RRX like an hour before show was supposed to start and had to park all the way down the hill because the lots were full of people looking for tickets' cars. Missed the Lester Had a Coconut opener.

We live right near Red Rocks, tickets on stubhub jumped from 100 to 1500 when they announced Billy was playing. My wife went over to the lot in a light colored sundress and got miracled in. Sundresses FTW

Enjoy this moment captured during a recording of the tune at Columbia University in the spring of 1968.

RIP Bob Weir, one of the founders and original architects of The Grateful Dead. When the Dead would trip off into one of their dazzling live cosmic jams, lead singer Bobby was the ringmaster who knew when to grab everyone and guide them back down to earth. On his own solo music he upheld the Dead’s communal spirit and was always willing to share the spotlight with talented musicians. In recent years Weir fronted the post-Jerry Garcia/Phil Lesh version of the Dead and introduced the group’s music and vibe to new generations of Dead Heads. We’ll never forget when he performed on ACL TV in Season 28 with RatDog. Watch the full performance on our Youtube:

Here are the comments that Phil Johnson made about Joel Webbon in a sermon(?) at Grace Community Church. After reading a list of Corey Mahler’s greatest hits, Phil started in on Pastor Joel. Obviously, there was no context given. These quotes are designed to incite the emotions of those that are dedicated to 20th Century liberalism. Joel was called out by Phil publicly, so he responded publicly. He warned Phil not to go down the same road as the G3 clowns, lest his ministry suffer the same fate as G3. That’s a perfectly reasonable admonition, and Joel did not engage in the same tactics that Phil used against him. Phil, for his part, decided to play the victim as the cancer patient. I suspect that’s why he was picked to give this message.
