One of our signature projects in the healthcare sector is the Enugu International Hospital, a 300-bed ultramodern facility being developed to strengthen access to quality and specialised healthcare services in Enugu State. The hospital is being equipped with advanced medical infrastructure, including cancer diagnosis, treatment, and other critical care services, to position it as a centre for excellence and a destination for advanced medical treatment within and beyond Nigeria. A productive state is built on a healthy population, and we remain committed to strengthening our healthcare system to ensure accessible, modern, and quality healthcare for all.

As always, a good and productive meeting with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre. We discussed in detail our cooperation in the production and use of drones. Our experience is already being used in the Middle East and the Gulf. We are improving defense against “shahed” drones, and we believe this should also be done in Europe. Today, for this purpose, we initiated a Drone Deal with Norway and signed a Joint Declaration on Enhanced Defense and Security Cooperation. Now our teams will work out the details. We also focused on our joint production projects and cooperation priorities for this year, and not only in defense. We continue to work together with partners to strengthen our countries. I personally thank Jonas, Norway, and all Norwegians for their military and energy support for Ukraine, for strengthening our air defense, and for their readiness to continue support for the PURL initiative. We feel your support and are sincerely grateful for it.

Ukraine will prepare and send partners a list of needs to support our energy infrastructure and military capabilities. We are counting on their support. Attention was also given to security guarantees for Ukraine and all of Europe. We also discussed our diplomatic work and the importance of assistance to Ukraine. Support for the PURL initiative must continue, and the full potential of the SAFE instrument for joint weapons production with Ukraine must be realized. Ukrainians, along with all other Europeans, must feel secure in their future and assured that Russian aggression will never occur again. I thank our partners who understand this and help. We aligned our positions, coordinated next steps, and agreed on further contacts within the broader circle.

I presented her with the Order of Merit, II class, for her significant personal contribution to strengthening our cooperation and supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I am grateful for all the assistance to our people, for the visit, and especially for her trip to Chernihiv. It is extremely important for us when partners personally visit such places and support the reconstruction of our schools and kindergartens. We discussed defense support. We value Latvia’s contribution to the PURL initiative. We also spoke about the possibilities of using the SAFE mechanism and the prospects for joint weapons production. Latvia is a leader in the Drone Coalition. This year, it has supplied Ukraine with about 12,000 drones, and this is vital support for our defense. We also focused on the diplomatic situation.
