Yesterday, ICE agents walked up to a U.S. citizen’s car, opened his door, and when he asked if they had a warrant, one agent said: “I don’t need a warrant.” Then they pulled the passenger out of the car and took them. 🚨BREAKING: ICE agents in New York illegally surrounded two cars and demanded the people inside prove their citizenship. Community members showed up and immediately started asking the questions ICE never wants asked on camera: “Do you have a warrant?” The agents claimed they did. But when people asked to actually SEE the warrant… they refused. Because they didn’t have one. That’s the constitutional violation right there. In the United States, federal agents cannot legally detain people, block their vehicles in, and demand proof of citizenship without lawful justification. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures. You don’t lose those rights because ICE decides to profile you. Imagine having orders to arrest someone and all you face from every angle are out of control mobsters screaming hate and threats while you are just trying to do your job. Seriously. Could you face going into your office tomorrow and being faced with hostility as you just tried to do what your bosses told you to do? An ICE Agent purportedly shot someone amidst an arrest detail. All I can say is, ICE agents are hunted. Full stop. So if you want to know at least part of the reason shots were fired, look at the atmosphere they are trying to do their jobs in. If you plan on being caretakers of your parents or siblings, have them put their home and assets in a trust. They will qualify for Medicaid services after five years of showing minimal income. Medicaid would then in turn pay you to care for them. Now Caretaking is an overwhelming task and many are not built for it so if that's you still have them put the home in a trust and the assets to qualify for Medicaid...they will pay for whomever you choose to care for them. For end of life care..your parents should own nothing and have no assets that are not in a protected trust.
