That’s why in Saudi and Gulf countries we take this issue seriously and jail extremists and execute terrorists. The problem is the West is hosting those extremists individuals/institutions and give them platforms and the freedom to preach hate even towards us. ISIS is active in the West and thousands of its members are coming from the West.

This is the kind of introspective attitude all religious, national, and business groups ought to adopt.

Terrorists literally do represent Muslims. From South America to Australia to Russia, it is literally the first thing most people around the world think of when they think of a Muslim. That is true representation, no matter how much you may detest it.

Wrong. They don't represent us. Weak argument, specious reasoning: informal logical fallacy of composition (assigning individual qualities to groups, here 2B+ people). 1% US terror is Muslim, 65% is White men (sources: DHS, FBI). Stats don't support this Islamophobic narrative

No one believes that they don’t represent Muslims. I am yet to see any public representation of a credible Islamic faction to say that they do not condone these acts. The entire non Islamic world agrees

Sunni Muslim societies today are particularly vulnerable to manipulation, especially at the mass level. Positions and narratives can shift very quickly, and people can be mobilized for completely opposite causes within a short period of time. This reflects a broader loss of critical thinking and independent judgment. For centuries, large Sunni populations were governed by successive empires whose priority was stability and control, not the intellectual empowerment of the population. These systems often encouraged obedience, emotional mobilization, and religious or symbolic loyalty, while discouraging critical inquiry and political autonomy. As a result, internal or external influence whether political, ideological, or geopolitical finds fertile ground today.

So which version of Islam do you follow? Because your book, gives your people the licence to do these things, it’s like a set of instructions that mirror your prophets behavior Look at this stat: “From 1979 to April 2024: At least 66,872 Islamist terrorist attacks worldwide, causing at least 249,941 deaths” (From the French think tank Fondapol) Islam cannot be reformed so how do you deal with ‘the worst of us’ when you ALL follow the same book?

When it’s patriarchy? ALL MEN. When it’s pedo priests? ALL CATHOLICS. When it’s racism? ALL WHITES. The genocide of Aboriginal people? Every single person in Australia for the last 200 years and the next 2000 years. But violent jihad? ISLAMAPHOBIA! Wah! How very dare you!

This is a good start. You are at least having a conversation with other Muslims. There needs to be a real movement within Islam to excommunicate and marginalize the Islamists.

It's hard to call out extremists internally when there is a constant pressure to be the MOST Muslim, and extremists often appear only very devout until they turn violent. We need to normalize moderates and stop shaming those who aren't 'Muslim enough'.

"He's not Muslim" specifically is bad, because it kinda is a softer version of the very takfir logic that the extremists and bad guys themselves use.

1. The stats don’t back your claim, only the media/political focus creates this illusion 2. It doesn’t acknowledge the hand of intelligence services in these crimes 3. Where it’s Muslims, the answer isn’t one of more policing but 2see what’s radicalising Muslims ie wars of terror

Here’s me thinking you’re gonna say something smart like “why do we have to apologise for something we aren’t responsible for?” Or “Why are Muslim attacks magnified while white non-Muslim attacks are swept under the rug?”

When Christians hear pastors or public people misusing the Bible to try to justify reprehensible ideas, we call them out, publicly. Your argument would hold weight if you called out your imams who are calling for violent jihad. I’ve never seen a Muslim do that.

Those terrorists represent the physical embodiment of your Quran. Through the lense of the Quran, it is you that is the radical…the extremist, because you are not faithfully adhering to your sacred text that commands you to commit atrocities and acts of terrorism in the name of Allah and jihad to murder or subjugate the infidels (Jews and Christians). That is the reality. And that is why no one believes you or any Muslim when they say that “Islam is a religion of peace”. It’s laughable at this point. You have to be a sociopath to say that with a straight face at this point. The Muslims that don’t commit terrorism are irrelevant to the issue because that still leave millions of Muslims that are willing and able to commit terrorist acts in the name of your Allah. And we all know none of you “peaceful” muslims will actually call out, report or go against your fellow killer Muslims when the time comes.

Time to acknowledge there’s something wrong with the religion, and they’re accurately representing the religion. You seem sensible. You can get there.

Well said. The number of Islamist terror attacks cannot be ignored. I’ve seen more Muslims from the ME speaking up on X since Bondi Beach massacre and they are all pointing their fingers at the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood. Most countries in the ME proscribed the MB back in 2013/ 2014. It seems the majority of peaceful Muslims are afraid to be harmed if they speak up on SM against Muslim extremists.

You may be trying to have a point, but actually don't make sense. How saying "they represent us" makes those who are already pinning this on you, change their minds? No need to mention, Zionists are doing a genocide as we speak, and yes, it is true that not all jews are genocidal

Do you ever wonder if the extremists are right? Religions are in large part (though of course not just) ideas. If people who take that idea seriously keep doing the wrong thing, maybe there’s something wrong with the idea.

The most honest muslim thing I’ve heard in a long time. We keep hearing “they aren’t one of us” and no one from the muslim world seems to bother to prevent or report or fight back against it, just hollow disassociations. Also, you personally may want to consider that maybe there’s something wrong with islam that allows for such violence and fanaticism.
