Timothée Chalamet deserves a second-straight Oscar nomination for #MartySupreme & if things go well with Dune: Part Three, Chalamet could go for three straight nominations before turning 32. It’s hard to not be impressed by this run. Cinema’s in really good hands with Chalamet.

Chalamet should absolutely be pictured on the graph below in some capacity - all signs point to Dune: Part 3 being Chalamet’s best outing as Atredies. Chalamet was snubbed last year for Marty Supreme & another snub looks totally plausible again this year.

Timothée Chalamet is looking to earn his 3rd consecutive Oscar nomination for Best Actor this year & regardless of whether he wins the award or not, just achieving three straight Best Actor nominations in a row (something Russell Crowe also did in the late ‘90s) is an incredible achievement. I’m curious if the Academy will give Chalamet his due for Dune, something they haven’t done up to this point.

Marty Supreme has turned into my favorite Timothée Chalamet film. It might not be his best (see Dune: Part 2) but it’s the one I love the most personally. I think this film started with such a bang- it grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go for the next two hours. Safdie & Chalamet are a tremendous pairing, I hope they reunite in the very near future.

With Timothée Chalamet’s Marty Supreme era officially over, I think all that really matters in 2026 for Chalamet is Dune 3. I think it has the potential to win Best Picture over Nolan & Spielberg’s latest films. It could be Chalamet’s career high-point thus far. We’ll see.

Gary Oldman probably shouldn’t have won the Oscar for The Darkest Hour. I revisited DDL in Phantom Thread & Timothee Chalamet in Call Me By Your Name- both deserved to win the Oscar over Oldman in 2018. This isn’t even a top 3 Oldman performance all-time. Good but not great.

Yesterday I wrote that Timothée Chalamet should’ve won the #Oscar last year for A Complete Unknown. I put my head on the pillow last night & woke up this morning and realized how wrong I was. Colman Domingo moved mountains in Sing Sing last year. This man - not Chalamet, not Brody- deserved the award. Sing Sing deserves to be seen by many more people. If you haven’t had an opportunity to see this film, you should try to watch. I cried my ass off because this is a film that reminds us all that art & self expression can help save a person’s life. These are the sort of stories & performances that stay with you forever.
