Sorry but he was just playing a dude similar to himself and over acted in parts of the movie.

Growing up with an older brother that struggled with Heroine addiction… the way he flexes his eyebrow when he talks is so reminiscent to the way my brother would talk when he was deep in his addiction. This scene stuck a chord and Chalamet is a phenomenal actor.
