To boost morale while deployed in the Western Pacific aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) in 2006, the VAW-116 Sun Kings produced this video of squadron members performing to the Black Eyed Peas' "Pump It". #ThrowbackThursday

Woo hoo! That's epic!

@ChowdahHill Let’s see the hype video for the Navy’s best damn warship!

The important part is not that it was the Black Eyed Peas. They were covering and sampling Dick Dale—King of the Surf Guitar and Fender Strat.

@HerbCarmen remembers…. These guys did for Navy recruiting, what @NavyRecruitingCommand couldnt do themselves. Genuinely an opportunity wasted.

I feel like the Black Eyed Peas would just decrease morale as sailors run around looking for how to turn it off.

🔥🔥🔥

Today is the Army's birthday

. .

I could have used such entertainment on my Navy ship.

As I former Air Wing Dog (CVW-9) I always noticed that the E-2 squadron always had the highest morale and I thought that it was because they only had 4 birds to maintain. No, I don’t think that was true. They were just genuinely happy people. Go E-2 squadron! 🤣❤️👍🇺🇸
