Today I learned Mighty Orbots had pretty good animation.

It's somehow very Japanese and very Western at the same time 😄

Kind of like Galaxy High School.

A lot of 80s "american" shows have hidden animation gems made in japan, not only in the openings.

If an 80s cartoon had it’s animation done in Japan, chances are it was better than it’s contemporaries.

Well, of course it had, it was produced by MGM and it was animated by TMS. In fact, that's probably the one thing people remember about it, that it had surprisingly high production values for an 80s Saturday Morning Cartoon.

- but relatively little understanding of condiments. 😎 I'm reminded of a TMS-animated ep of Animaniacs where Brain scooped up water with what was obviously intended to be a thimble, but the animator probably didn't know thimbles, 'cause it was animated like a flexible bag.
