I met my supervising Minister, H.M Kunle Salako, the Hon Minister of State for Health, and a Powerful Indigene of Ogun State where my FMC is domiciled. In addition to presenting him my Letter of appointment, I had the opportunity to share with him my vision for FMC Abeokuta and how I intend to support the Management in delivering quality Clinical and Healthcare Service to the people. I also met with the Permanent Secretary Health and Chairman House Committee on Health Services. Our center has performed many open has surgeries and has many records we are proud of. B goal is for us to become a Health Institution that can go toe to toe with any private or foreign hospital in care delivery.

I joined Governor Sanwoolu and HE FASHOLA as a Speaker at the Lagos Leadership Summit. I shared the stories of my transformative impact during my time as a Permanent Board Member at Lagos SUBEB and our success so far at FMC Abeokuta in re-engineering the institution to establish the narrative that Young People have what it takes to lead at various levels if given the opportunity and encouragements. I also challenged the youths that “it’s in our hands, we must not wait to be given a seat at the table, we must create our chairs and bring it to the table for equal opportunity”. This is getting too much, Senator Monday Okpebholo Moses Joel Yamu Edo State Police Command we need to do something about this as soon as possible. The ministry of public safety and security is no longer functional, the governor has refused to appoint a commissioner for the ministry, this is the ministry that controls the command and control center and our emergency call numbers, that ministry is very important so the governor should please pay attention to that ministry. In the absence of the commissioner the permanent secretary of that ministry needs to be active, it’s getting out of hand. We need help in Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo wake up and stay active your excellency.

1am this morning I paid an unscheduled visit to our Medical Center, disguised, to assess for myself, the true state of the facility especially the A and E/ surgical Wards; without any cosmetic. Whew. While a lot has been achieved in the institution, a lot of work is really needed to turn the center to a model health institution. We are grateful to all the legislators who have donated additional infrastructure to us; but we need a total overhaul of our A & E/ward. The next phase of my external engagement on behalf of the FMC includes meeting with stakeholders from our ministerial leaders to the private sector who can support and partner with us. The government cannot do it alone. May I call on well meaning Nigerians to Please come and adopt some of our buildings and renovate. Come to Macedonia and help us.

I had the honour of hosting Governor Dapo Abiodun, FMR Governor Segun Osoba and the Hon Minister of State Health Dr Isiaq Salako at FMC Abeokuta as we commissioned and named newly completed projects after the Incumbent and Former Governor as well as other stakeholders. The 5 projects, a multi story building to house the works and maintenance department named after Governor Abiodun, a story building of 68 offices for consultants named after Chief Osoba, 2 - 180 capacity patients wards complexes named after the parents of former Governor Amosun and a modern laundry facility named after former CG of NSCDC Dr. Ade Abolurin. As Board Chairman, I would continue to work closely with our Medical Director and management to improve our infrastructure and the experience of our patient, while also deepening our relationship with internal and external stakeholders in our effort to build a world class Medical Center of International Repute.

We are delighted to inform our people that the drive from Abeokuta to Papalanto is now free of bad portions. The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. Our administration remains resolute in its commitment to providing quality infrastructure that enhances economic growth, facilitates ease of movement, and improves the daily lives of our people. Today marks 32 years of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations “Alpha,” and I am grateful to you for strengthening the Center, the Security Service of Ukraine, and our entire state every year. I presented state awards to the warriors of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations “Alpha” and handed over an award to the family of a fallen Hero who was honored with this title posthumously. Over the years of our full-scale defense, the Security Service of Ukraine has become one of the world’s strongest security services: a truly combat-capable service. And a major part of this achievement is the result of Alpha’s work. I thank every Alpha warrior for your service! I thank everyone who supports you and helps you. We are pleased to announce that the newly completed 250-bed Ogun State Medical Center of Excellence in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta will be commissioned in December 2025. During our recent inspection, we confirmed that the project, originally built but left incomplete by the past administration, has now reached an advanced stage, with exterior works, landscaping, the entrance canopy, gate, and oxygen systems already in place. We have directed the contractors to increase manpower so operations can begin within the next two to three weeks. We are positioning this facility as a “spoke” of the Abuja Medical Center of Excellence, which partners internationally with King’s College Hospital. Once fully completed and handed over to Healthshare Services Limited, the hospital will be managed to world-class standards and become the first point of care for our people. This project had significant structural, civil, and electrical gaps when we assumed office, but through our PPP office, we secured Healthshare as a credible partner and signed an MoU to complete and operate the hospital. When this center opens, it will drastically reduce medical tourism and limit the constant movement of patients from Ogun to Lagos or other institutions. Its location will also serve residents across Ogun, Oyo, Osun, and Ekiti, offering a more convenient and accessible alternative. According to the project managers, the basement, ground floor, radiology, laboratory, and consulting rooms are ready, while the theatre, ICU, and wards on the first floor are being finalized to meet our December commissioning target.
