Today is my first day at OpenAI! I'm joining the Codex team. I'll be splitting my time between building the Codex app and working with developers/entrepreneurs to help them make the most of Codex. As a Y Combinator alum, I'm really looking forward to working with early-stage startups and... couldn't be more energized about OpenAI's $2M investment in new YC startups. Despite OpenAI being the largest company I've been part of, it certainly feels like Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and the whole Codex team are in founder mode. I've never seen another startup move as fast as this team does. I'm truly honored to be joining such a brilliant team. As always, it's all about the people... so I'd like to thank Romain Huet, dominik kundel, corey.ching, Andrew Ambrosino, Alexander Embiricos, Tibo, and the rest of the Codex team for their trust. After a weekend of testing and working on something with GPT-5.3-Codex & Opus 4.6, ChatGPT Pro + Claude Max 5x are still the best combo in my opinion Using Codex & Claude Code CLI running in tmux (the desktop apps are still a bit buggy) and they're accessible even on the go from iPhone with Termius (and VPN) Usually starting with GPT-5.3-Codex xhigh and Opus 4.6 in plan mode, discussing changes and options, and each writing their plans down to separate Markdown files Then letting GPT-5.3-Codex xhigh (or Opus 4.6) implement the changes as the first draft, then Opus 4.6 reviews them with a team of agents (works pretty well already with tmux even though still experimental) based on both prepared plans, fixes stuff, and then another review by GPT-5.3-Codex xhigh or vice versa Interesting that even Opus 4.6 still occasionally makes silly mistakes like wrong imports, partial or overly broad renaming of variables/functions, etc Fun fact, OpenAI apparently plans to use their Super Bowl ad to promote Codex - curious what that will look like

excited to announce that I'm officially partnering with the folks over at Essential Mod ! The Essential team is starting up a new program aimed at supporting mod creators specifically. I've been working with them behind the scenes for a while now to make this program a reality, so I'm very happy to see it come to fruition. I'd really like to see modding become a viable career option for more people, and I think creator programs like this are a step in the right direction. also we'll be collaborating on some cool content in the future so stay tuned!

Season 2 of Fableborne went live this morning and we are now trending in gaming! Hundreds of thousands of raids already complete! For 2 years we waited and waited, patiently building, restraining ourselves from all the noise and short term distractions focsuing just on building the best game to use as the base of what is to come. As a founder, working with this team each day, its easy for me to be unrealistically bullish. Its so satisfying to see the rest of web3 now seeing why.

Codex can run Qwen-3.8-max now as well!! Alibaba most capable model, dropped today and it's already in my codex picker. It's a token plan subscription, not metered api billing. You take the key from your Qwen plan, drop it into Codex Router, and it spends down the plan instead of your card. There's a catch though. Qwen's official setup switches your whole codex over to them, so your ChatGPT models stop showing up at all. That's exactly what Codex Router is for. It adds models to the list instead of replacing them, so sol, Grok, kimi, Deepseek and now Qwen 3.8 max all sit in the same picker and it can grab whichever one suits the job. Router's open source, setup's in the video 👇

I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA. Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember. I have taken so much pride in playing alongside my teammates for the LA community, so thank you for embracing my family and making this such a special place for us. 2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career. Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys.. But coming for it all.

We’ve just moved into our first office at Wintercircus—an old circus now packed with startups of all stripes and talents 🎪 After 4 years of working from home, I’m excited to finally be back in an office, building a team alongside Filip Minev and Wouter, and soaking up the energy from the brilliant minds around us. Updated the subagents system in my custom Pi extension to include: - Pi subagents - Codex subagents - Claude Code subagents The Pi thread can call and spin up any of them, and instead of just using the "codex exec" or whatever, it'll do a tool call that wraps it up in a first class way. Have a decent UI for them already added in as well. Pi being the main thread then having Codex/Claude Code as tools when needed feels so good. A flow I'm already using a ton is: "Implement feature ___, have a cc fable subagent research and plan out the api design + feature, then have a codex subagent implement it, then have a cc fable subagent do a review/fixes focused on simplicity and correctness" I also have a dynamic workflows extension setup and working, but it's not nearly as polished yet. Probably gonna make the subagent system more robust, then built it around that so u could have a workflow that flows between codex/cc/pi...

Caught up with Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo, who are promoting Bounty at the Super Bowl. Had to ask Skattebo for an update on his ankle, even though he's getting tired of the questions. Here's the latest: "I'm starting to run again and people are telling me to be careful and do this and do that. It's like, 'I'm good.' I'm not going to put myself in a bad spot, but I'm working to get better. I'm probably about two months out of being fully healthy. Getting there, but having a good time while doing it." They're even a duo as pitchmen. More to come in a story later/tomorrow.

Album is out, I’ve waited so long to share these last few years of my life with you The first song was written a little over two years ago at a really low point in my life. I had absolutely no idea what this album would sound like or if I had the energy to write it at all. The last song was written in the fall of 2025 with the most amazing team by my side and a love for music I haven’t felt since before everything all popped off for the first time. I think when you dedicate your life to something you can lose yourself in the day to day stuff and forget why you chose it to begin with. I love telling stories and sharing myself with you. I love music and how it’s allowed me to meet the most interesting people and see the most wonderful things in our world. Always be curious and never stop learning. Open yourself up to new people and experiences as much as you can. Talk to everyone and never assume anything. In a way this feels like the first time ive ever released music though that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Thank you to the fans who have been around since the beginning, or since the ride era finished and I had to take a little time to figure out what was next, or those of you who have found me because of this new stuff. I love the shit out of you. Thank you.
