WATCH: Namibia's Oxford-trained law scholar Dr Ndjodi Ndeunyema today presented the oral submissions on behalf of Namibia at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands, as part of the country's participation in the advisory opinion on the obligations of states in respect of climate change. Namibia’s legal submissions put emphasis on the impact of climate change as a result of greenhouse gas emissions on the global economy's water system and the right of access to water. Dr Mekondjo Kaapanda-Girnus, Namibian ambassador to Belgium, the European Union and accredited to The Netherlands and the ICJ, delivered the introductory statement, while Professor Phoebe Okowa served as advisor to Ndeunyema in the matter.
