Today we announced, if elected, the Alberta NDP will create a Somali curriculum for Alberta schools. Adriana LaGrange & the UCP had four years to do this; why didn't they prioritize it? Alberta's diversity is our greatest strength and should be reflected in our curriculum. #abed

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange Oh heavens what’s a Somali curriculum? Please explain. ❤️🙂

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange A chance to learn language and culture of Somolia just like many other languages we offer in Alberta schools: French, German, Spanish…

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange Why tf would Somalia be a priority in Alberta schools?

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange Your diversity is reaching out for nonsense. To bring that up in Parliament is pathetic. Everyone knows, they can celebrate their heritage anywhere in Canada... the ndp, is nothing but liberal crap.

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange Immigrants from Somalia don't need to be educated on their country of origin's culture. They largely rejected it and that's why they are here. They need to learn about Canadian culture and history and how to integrate here. They need to learn about what makes us *not* Somalia.

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange Any response?

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange Really? Somali curriculum? This is what the NDP consider to be of vital importance? No wonder your government put Albertans $100b in debt. Trying to buy votes.

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange Schools need to stick to fundamental academics and stay away from this political indoctrination crap.

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange I wonder how many Somali kids would laugh at you and call you fat. not to worry it's a cultural practice and you shouldn't take offense

@albertaNDP @AdrianaLaGrange This is a terrible idea. We should be uniting society instead of funding ways to further divide it
