CM Fellowship: Where Young Ideas Meet Governance Attended the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme Appreciation and Commencement Ceremony 2026. The Chief Minister Fellowship Programme, launched in 2015, was envisioned to bring the fresh perspectives, creative thinking and field-based approach of young professionals into governance while creating meaningful learning opportunities through close engagement with the administrative system. The collaboration with IIT Bombay is giving the programme a more structured and academically grounded approach, further strengthening this exchange between young talent and public administration. Over the years, Fellows have made valuable contributions across several areas. Their inputs helped shape Maharashtra’s Startup Policy, supported the strengthening and repurposing of the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, and contributed to the development of district-level war rooms that enabled data-driven monitoring, ground-level assessment and more accurate evaluation of government programmes. Fellows have also contributed significantly to initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayat Raj Abhiyan, various housing schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and efforts to create better market linkages for products made by farmers and women’s Self-Help Groups. Their field interventions have demonstrated how fresh ideas, when combined with administrative experience, can translate into meaningful outcomes on the ground. It’s an auto-correct way to get better at push-ups. And I think it’s significantly easier than teaching “knees on the ground.” As you progress, lower the elevation. QUALITY >>> QUANTITY Here are some great coaching cues & models that can help fix issues: ✅ Hand placement slightly outside of chest. Today we stood with the people of Chertsey, laying flowers for that poor two-year-old angel. We showed the community they are not alone, many of us have no choice but to stand up. That poor little girl was the same age as my own and she was ripped away in the most brutal way by a man who should never have been in this country. This is becoming far too common: men not born here committing horrific crimes against our women and children. Whether they come through the front door or not, they should never be here. Flowers and words are not enough. We honoured her today… but action is coming. We’ve had enough.

Why Our Idea of Empowerment Is Not Working. For decades, Nigeria has pursued empowerment as a development strategy. Every year, governments at all levels distribute grants, sewing machines, tricycles, grinding machines, motorcycles, fertilizers and various forms of financial assistance. Yet poverty remains stubbornly high, unemployment remains a challenge, and millions continue to struggle at the margins of economic survival. The question therefore must be asked: Why is our empowerment model not producing the transformation we seek? The answer may be uncomfortable. We have largely mistaken empowerment for development. Too often, our approach to poverty eradication and job creation has been rooted in tokenism rather than transformation. We measure success by the number of items distributed, the number of beneficiaries photographed, or the number of people who receive one-off support. What we rarely measure is how many people have successfully moved from one economic level to the next. Nations are not built by distribution. Nations are built by ideas, institutions and structures that enable continuous economic advancement. The akara seller, tailor, welder, carpenter, mechanic and market trader should not be viewed as recipients of government generosity. They should be viewed as participants in a deliberate growth ladder. The objective should not merely be to help them survive today. The objective should be to help them become more productive tomorrow. A woman frying akara today should be able to become a supplier to schools and offices tomorrow. The supplier of tomorrow should become a food processor next. The processor should become a manufacturer. The manufacturer should become an exporter. The exporter should become an innovator. That is what development looks like. The most successful economies in history understood that prosperity is created when millions of people are assisted in moving upward through structured stages of productivity. Growth occurs when economic actors are continuously upgraded, not when they are continuously subsidized. Unfortunately, much of our empowerment architecture has no scaling mechanism. We hand out resources but provide no pathway for progression. We celebrate beneficiaries but rarely track transformation. We focus on access rather than advancement. The result is predictable. Every year new beneficiaries emerge to replace old beneficiaries because the system has not fundamentally altered their economic position. What Nigeria needs is not another empowerment programme. Nigeria needs a national scaling framework. Such a framework would identify the lowest rung of economic activity and deliberately create pathways upward through training, financing, market access, technology adoption, business formalization and industrial integration. Every intervention should answer one question: How does this move the beneficiary to the next level of productivity? The true measure of success is not how many people receive assistance. It is how many people no longer need it. Until we shift from a culture of empowerment to a culture of economic progression, poverty reduction will remain elusive. The future belongs not to programmes that distribute opportunity in small doses, but to systems that systematically scale human potential. Too often, our approach to poverty eradication and job creation has been rooted in tokenism rather than transformation. We measure success by the number of items distributed, the number of beneficiaries photographed, or the number of people who receive one-off support. What we rarely measure is how many people have successfully moved from one economic level to the next. Nations are not built by distribution. Nations are built by ideas, institutions and structures that enable continuous economic advancement. The akara seller, tailor, welder, carpenter, mechanic and market trader should not be viewed as recipients of government generosity. They should be viewed as participants in a deliberate growth ladder. The objective should not merely be to help them survive today. The objective should be to help them become more productive tomorrow. A woman frying akara today should be able to become a supplier to schools and offices tomorrow. The supplier of tomorrow should become a food processor next. The processor should become a manufacturer. The manufacturer should become an exporter. The exporter should become an innovator. That is what development looks like. The most successful economies in history understood that prosperity is created when millions of people are assisted in moving upward through structured stages of productivity. Growth occurs when economic actors are continuously upgraded, not when they are continuously subsidized. Unfortunately, much of our empowerment architecture has no scaling mechanism. We hand out resources but provide no pathway for progression. We celebrate beneficiaries but rarely track transformation. We focus on access rather than advancement. The result is predictable. Every year new beneficiaries emerge to replace old beneficiaries because the system has not fundamentally altered their economic position. What Nigeria needs is not another empowerment programme. Nigeria needs a national scaling framework. Such a framework would identify the lowest rung of economic activity and deliberately create pathways upward through training, financing, market access, technology adoption, business formalization and industrial integration. Every intervention should answer one question: How does this move the beneficiary to the next level of productivity? The true measure of success is not how many people receive assistance. It is how many people no longer need it. Until we shift from a culture of empowerment to a culture of economic progression, poverty reduction will remain elusive. The future belongs not to programmes that distribute opportunity in small doses, but to systems that systematically scale human potential. WHY MANY BELIEVERS STILL STRUGGLE: YOU NEED BOTH OIL AND CAPACITY Every time there is access to oil, but you’re still struggling, it’s a capacity problem; you need to build capacity. However, when there are plenty of vessels and still no impact, it’s an oil problem. These two issues, lack of oil and lack of capacity, are the major struggles among Believers in the Body of Christ today. Some have all the information they need, yet their spirit man has not been quickened. They lack the fire of intimacy, the discipline of prayer, and the sensitivity that comes from true fellowship with the Holy Spirit. So while they can speak intelligently and quote Scripture, there remains a gap between revelation and manifestation, because the oil is missing. Others, however, have oil; they pray, they fast, they fellowship, but have not contended for superior knowledge. Their walk with the Holy Spirit is sincere but shallow, limited by religious bias. Sometimes, in the name of spirituality, they drift away from the Word. Yet, the true proof of intimacy with the Holy Spirit is that He continually leads you to the Word of God. It’s also possible to study the Bible religiously and still remain powerless, full of head knowledge but empty of life. You can be a vessel, yet an empty one. And no one comes to buy from an empty vessel. It’s the filled vessel that becomes a treasure to be desired. To walk in wisdom and influence in the Kingdom, you must learn to balance both: capacity through knowledge and oil through intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Mike Arnold Mike Arnold told me a story I'll never forget about kids in Nigeria who watched their parents get murdered by Boko Haram. Many of these children are now attending schools run by missionaries in Nigerian refugee camps. The teachers at these schools try to keep traumatized Christian students alive while the Islamic Nigerian government looks the other way to the genocide of Christians in Nigeria. I committed $10,000 on-air to help fund those teachers and children at 2 of the local schools founded by Mike's organization “Africa Arise USA”. Additionally, I’m making my donation in honor of Tucker Carlson, since he keeps insisting the genocide of Christians in Nigeria is “propaganda.” If Tucker is the Christian he says he is, he should match my donation. Or better yet, exceed it. They only need $20,000 to build a new school. Mike invited me to Nigeria to see the camps myself. The invitation extends to Tucker, too. Tucker should go to Nigeria with me, and look these kids in their eyes and hear their stories. Then, let’s see if he has the balls to tell the world there’s “no genocide” happening. This is real.
