Nick Dumesnil (California Baptist Baseball) has as much upside as anyone in the 2025 draft. With question marks early on about how he'd fare against the top arms in the country on the Cape, "Doomey" proved quickly as one of the best players in the summer league circuit. His hands start high with the bat coiled behind his head. While a somewhat unorthodox approach, he's able to get his bat head up and hands lowered upon loading. It's an explosive operation with elite bat speed, averaging as much as 79.9 mph in the CCBL (per @Blast_Bsbl). It's a consistent swing making hard contact and driving the ball to both gaps (led the CCBL with 12 2B). The quick hip hinge allows for a powerful on-time rotation through the ball as he barrels the ball at a high clip (up to 30.4% this summer per Joe Doyle). Then there's the speed. Doomey set the Brewster Whitecap SB record with 26 (27 ATT) in 36 G. His 96.2% success rate is the highest in league history for someone with 20+ steals in a season (per League Statistician). He gets good jumps on the base paths and good reads off the bat defensively. There is some swing and miss to his game. He walks at an average rate (8.6 BB% in the CCBL) and struck out just 12.9% of the time in the WAC but that went up to 21.7% this summer. There's some chase low out of the zone vs break and did way more damage vs LHP (.435/.469/.783; .348 ISO) than RHP (.247/.333/.337; .090 ISO). 🚨ARTEMIS II UPDATE - NASA Repairs Helium Flow Issue Inside VAB; Preparing For SLS Rollout After returning to the VAB on February 25th; NASA engineers traced the helium flow issue to a seal inside a quick disconnect in the launch vehicle stage adapter. The seal had obstructed the pathway that allows helium to flow from ground systems into the upper stage. Technicians removed and reassembled the quick disconnect hardware and have already begun validating the repair by running helium at a reduced flow rate through the system. Engineers are now assessing what caused the seal to become dislodged to ensure the issue does not recur. Ancient Theatre of Taormina (Teatro antico di Taormina), an ancient Greek Theatre in Taormina, Sicily, Italy. It was initially built by Greeks in 3rd Century BC, before being rebuilt and enlarged by the Romans. While known as an amphitheatre, the site is actually an ancient theatre, not the gladiatorial arena of the type normally meant by the term. As well as being a major draw for tourists to the city, today the theatre continues to be used for concerts, plays and other events. Ancient Greeks inhabited Sicily from 750 BC, establishing many significant settlements on the island to make use of Sicily’s fertile soil and advantageous trading location. Around the 3rd Century BC, at the time of Hiero II, Greeks dug directly into the hard rock of Mount Taro to construct a theatre, removing around 100,00 cubic metres of rock. Large columns would have been hauled up the mountain by slaves to encircle the stage. Greek Theatre, was designed to accommodate dramatic or musical performances and so included an orchestra at the lowest levels of the theatre and a large scene where actors or dancers would perform. The cavea or auditorium steps and seats, were designed so all 5400 spectators could hear wherever they sat. While Sicily remained largely Greek culturally, the Roman settlers expanded the theatre and shifted its function to reflect Roman entertainment; gladiatorial games. During Middle Ages, the grand Corinthian style columns were removed to adorn palaces and places of worship, including the Cathedral. Today, over 2 millennia later, the Taormina Amphitheatre remains a social space for watching performances. Today, theatre is used as a venue for the annual arts festival Taormina Arte, other entertainment offered includes theatre, concerts, symphonies, operas, ballets and the David di Donatell awards have all been held within the ancient auditorium. The modern seating has had a mixed response, but allows this fantastic site that has weathered the ravages of time to continue functioning as was originally intended. Ancient Theatre of Taormina (Teatro antico di Taormina), an ancient Greek Theatre in Taormina, Sicily, Italy. It was initially built by Greeks in 3rd Century BC, before being rebuilt and enlarged by the Romans. While known as an amphitheatre, the site is actually an ancient theatre, not the gladiatorial arena of the type normally meant by the term. As well as being a major draw for tourists to the city, today the theatre continues to be used for concerts, plays and other events. Ancient Greeks inhabited Sicily from 750 BC, establishing many significant settlements on the island to make use of Sicily’s fertile soil and advantageous trading location. Around the 3rd Century BC, at the time of Hiero II, Greeks dug directly into the hard rock of Mount Taro to construct a theatre, removing around 100,00 cubic metres of rock. Large columns would have been hauled up the mountain by slaves to encircle the stage. The event commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Nakba (Arabic for Catastrophe), when over 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly removed from over 500 villages and cities in historic Palestine, never to return. The Nakba continues today — from Jerusalem to Gaza, Israel continues its policy of human rights abuses, displacing and oppressing the indigenous Palestinian population. Arms sales: China Needs More Responsibility Instead of Glorifying the Market It's been a while since Beijing stopped picking sides in wars, they just want to win at all costs. They sell weapons, components, or drones to both contenders, rake in huge profits, and still claim to be "neutral and peaceful." Pragmatism without hypocrisy, and it's nothing new. In Ukraine, at the start of the war, components and drones served both sides. Later, they cut off direct supplies to both, but everyone kept buying through third parties, and the Chinese obviously know about it. Profit guaranteed. In the recent Thailand-Cambodia war, they sold VT-4 tanks and S26T submarines to Thailand, and guided missiles - to destroy the tanks sold to Thailand?-, rockets, and artillery to Cambodia. Chinese weapons exchanging fire from both sides, but the Chinese say it's just "normal defense cooperation." Israel and Iran is another perfect example: a Chinese state-owned company has been operating the port of Haifa in Israel since 2021 and is now involved in rebuilding the destruction caused by Iranian missiles, while selling ballistic missile components to Iran to repeat the feat and financing Iran's reconstruction until Israel repeats it too. In Africa, the effect is the same: in Sudan, they sold to the government, and weapons ended up with the RSF paramilitaries because they were also bought by the Emirates and passed on to Sudanese rebels; in the DRC, they sell to the government, but Chinese weapons also end up with militias like M23 through resale by Uganda and Rwanda; in Libya, they sold to Gaddafi, but right after his fall, they kept doing business with both main factions, and still do today. None of this started now. A classic from the 80s: in the Iran-Iraq war, China was the biggest supplier to BOTH sides at the same time, billions in tanks, missiles, and artillery for each. Obviously, this kind of policy was done by the West a long time ago, but it always faced criticism from the media. Anyone in the arms market knows that the Chinese maintain strict control over their sales. Even simple price quotes are centralized and selective. There's no way the government doesn't know exactly where the weapons are going. They're making the same mistakes the West made in the past.

Real Club Valderrama hosted its first event on the LIV Golf League in 2023 and has been a staple on the schedule since. The GM, Javier Reviriego, says they are very happy with their partnership and they will be looking to renew their contract when it’s up next season. Speaking to Flushing It Golf, Javier said: “We're very happy. I mean, for us, the event has been great, giving us a lot of visibility. “The best thing is to have these great players here. I mean, these players, we would have never dreamed of having them here in a DP World Tour event. That's a fact. “And we couldn't dream of bringing a PGA Tour event to Spain because I don't think that was ever going to happen either. So, we wanted this quality of players, and there was no choice, really.” LIV Golf Andalucía is just 5 weeks away and the build out is currently going up all over the course, with a huge hospitality area on the bank behind the 17th green striking an imposing presence. Advertising boards promoting the event greet arrivals at Gibraltar Airport and they are in the process of thickening the rough to make the course as challenging as ever. Javier says he has spoken to league executives who assure him it’s business as usual and Valderrama are even considering some renovations to the golf course to help improve the venue for future years. Their contract with LIV Golf ends after the 2027 season, and Javier says they are looking to renew and would be “happy to continue the relationship.” The LIV Golf League returns to Valderrama on June 4th as Talor Gooch aims to defend and win the title for the 3rd time in 4 seasons.
