Keith Rabois on the “one person, one problem" framework he learned from Peter Thiel “You need to spend a lot of time focusing people. This is something I learned from Peter Thiel. He used to insist at PayPal that every single person could only do exactly one thing. And we all rebelled. You feel like it’s insulting to be asked to do just one thing, but Peter would enforce this pretty strictly.” Thiel would say: “I will not talk to you about anything else except for this one thing that I’ve assigned to you. I don’t want to hear about how great your doing in this other area. Just focus until you conquer this one problem.” Keith explains: “The insight behind this is that most people will solve problems that they understand how to solve. Roughly speaking, they will solve B+ problems instead of A+ problems. That means their staff, budgets, positions, power, all gone. So what’s the incentive? As I watched this video, my heart was filled with both joy and ❤️‍🩹 at the same time. Look at this little boy. He is standing at the train station, not yet knowing that he is about to hear the words he has been waiting for-that he is going home, to Ukraine. Then look at his eyes the moment he finds out. So much happiness in a single glance. And at the same time, so much pain. Because of Russіа, thousands of Ukrainian children have lost their homes. Thousands have been forced to leave Ukraine. And no matter what anyone says, it is hard. Especially for children. They miss their homes, their bedrooms, their friends, and the places they love. They simply want to go home. Watching the joy in this little boy’s eyes brought me to tears. I’m sitting here crying. Because every child deserves to grow up at home, not to dream of returning one day, but to simply live in their own country, in peace. 🎥 v.hryts
