I have no problems with the high plasma temperature, but that comparison to the earliest time of the Big Bang is incorrect. We should learn to see the evolution of the universe in the coordinate system of the universe. That is the comoving coordinate system. We are visitors as contents of this universe and not the reference of the universe. With respect to the universe that earlier time all matter was large. Since then, all did shrink. That larger mater was thus relatively denser packed. But with respect to us now, the time did run slower. So, it is not the first microseconds of the universe but the first eaons since infinite past where slowly at large the same happened what we recreate in picoseconds with small matter now. I would love to see any observation that would invalidate this "stady state universe with shrinking matter" view. I am quite convinced there is none.
