Thank you for explaining all of that! I didn’t know what the Bible on top was. Very cool. With all of that said, Chief Justice rushed to get started with Trump’s swearing in, so it’s possible that Trump was simply focused on repeating what was said — as it’s incredibly important - and forgot to put his hand on the Bible. Maybe that’s what happened?

It was very simple. Robert started the swearing in process so quickly, he didn’t give Melania enough time to give him the Bible.
