Another excellent podcast. Haha Loved how Chamath gave his feedback on Apple IU and UX. Speaks for many. Apple has the BEST hardware. That is what gets me through the software ios clunkiness. @chamath @tim_cook , I sat literally for maybe 15-20minutes (it felt like that long) minutes literally closing every browser page I left open on my safari browser over the past weeks. I think I had like over a 100 tabs open, lol... I wanted to clean up my ram and memory speeds a bit. Then when I was FINALLY DONE with Apple Safari browser, I opened Google Chrome and did the same. I was able to QUICKLY find a button that closed ALL open tabs automatically without me needing to go to each open tab and tap on the corner x to close. @chamath has a point @tim_cook , think of the millions of minutes and seconds u can save someones life by simply adding a close all open apps and tabs. The same applies for all apps that left open. I have to INDIVIDUALLY swipe every app to close without having the option to close all at once. Great pod as always. Apple has the best hardware and it's the reason I put up with these cumbersome UI / UX ios decisions. I know @tim_cook will eventually improve these simple but essential time saving features.

Even Fox Business News is crashing out over Trump's faltering economy and his increasing gas prices. “I think you have to be prepared for that pushback when people have seen the price at the pump and we’ve talked about how the cost of gasoline goes into every single thing that we touch and breath. And yes, it’s spring planting season, we can’t get fertilizer for our guys in the mid-west. And so I think that sort of is the economic issue that people have a right to question.” Republicans are going to get clobbered in the midterms and they know it.

Trump: You have some vaccines that are so amazing. The polio vaccine I think is amazing. A lot of people think that covid is amazing. You know. I think you have to be very careful when you say that some people don't have to be vaccinated. You have vaccines that work. Just pure and simple they work. They're not controversial at all. And I think those vaccines should be used otherwise some people are going to catch it and they endanger other people. And when you don't have controversy at all, I think people should take them.

And I expect that many Jews are going to start shifting right into the Republican Party, to a place where I've been for a while.... But I think what's happened over the last few decades is that the civil rights movement, in particular, and the left have moved to this woke ideology where it's no longer about colorblindness. It's more about identity groups. And instead of trying to get past racial differences, it's been about accentuating them. And so we've had this whole equity agenda, which is really defined as redistribution from one racial group to another racial group. I think that, for whatever reason, a lot of Jews just hadn't confronted the reality that the left had really changed in this way. I think it goes back to the fact that they thought if we're going to be defining identity groups in this woke way, Jews obviously should be one of these victim groups, but they're waking up to the fact that Jews are not. Jews are in the minds of this woke ideology, just white people with a Jewish background. As a result, they're part of an oppressor class. And I think that a lot of Jewish people who are waking up to this are realizing this is actually a very destructive ideology, and it makes us the bad guys. So I would expect that, again, a lot of Jewish people are waking up to how the left has changed... and I would expect there to be kind of a pilgrimage now of more Jews in America towards the right, as opposed to remaining on the left where they've always been." The government is notoriously inefficient. So I think one massive review of the regulatory quagmire to set up the country efficiently and having Elon Musk as your partner in this enterprise is a huge home run. When was the last time you heard a presidential candidate talk about cutting waste in government? So, having a department of government efficiency makes tremendous sense. Eliminate waste. Accelerate growth. Reduce the cost of energy, which is embedded in the cost of everything. And we grow our way and improve our efficiency out of the debt problem. This is still the most entrepreneurial nation in the world. AI is this incredibly powerful technology that is going to be transformative, and I think that's how we're going to solve the problem. We solve it with growth and efficiency. We're introducing technology into the corporate landscape to make business more efficient. We haven't looked at introducing technology to the government to make it more efficient. I couldn't imagine a better person than Elon Musk to help with that."

If you go back to Trump's first term and even in the second term, the number of people in the inner circle, it's very volatile. People come, people go. It's kind of like a rotation. You get too close to the sun, your wings melt and you fall out. It's not the end of the free world as we know it. I actually think these two men will get back together again. I know it's salacious, it's really an interesting story, but at the end of the day they both have attributes that the other wants. Elon is a unique individual and Trump is a unique individual. They both have huge egos. They had a bad date. It's like a marriage and they're having a fight. I'm over it already. I think this is noise frankly. I don't think it really matters long-term. They can call each other on their cell phones and work it out and they will.
