There are some small differences in UI between Tesla FSD V14 Lite and HW4 V14. • Starting Self-Driving requires brake to confirm. It’s on by default. • There is no FSD intervention survey, just a voice message. • No Self-Driving stats (hope that can be added in the future). • Arrival options do not appear when approaching the destination. • It does not say “Driving to Whole Foods” when FSD is activated (I hope that’s added in the future as well). Keep in mind, this is a legacy Model Y with an Intel chip. All in all, V14 delivers on the main features from HW4 FSD. It parks in your driveway, in parking lots, at Superchargers, etc. It’s been really incredible. A night-and-day difference compared to V12.

Just had my first FSD 14 Lite experience and it was flawless. 100% FSD from my driveway to the gym and parked centered in a parking stall. Drove home beautifully but did not back in my driveway. I’m sure it will soon. 12.6.4 always prepared to back in but stopped. This is going to be fun.

This is really interesting. A Tesla owner received his Model Y two weeks ago with factory software version 2026.8.300. Normally, it takes 4–8 weeks before a new vehicle is moved to the regular software branch. He has just received a notification that his car is updating to FSD 2026.17.5. Has the long wait finally come to an end? 💪

This is bad. FSD 14.1 Lite drives straight over a log. Seriously, if you have 14 lite please be careful. So many people gave me crap about talking about the problems with 14 lite. Why do they want to hide their heads in the sand and ignore videos that are showing the issues. 🤦‍♂️ This isn't acceptable at this point. Somehow 14 lite took major steps back. This honestly isn't a good look. The problem is that those of us using FSD for years become familiar with it and will have basic expectations of its capabilities. Running into something like this hasn't been around for a long time and really is out of the ordinary. But this is the second video in two days. Not so out of the ordinary with 14 lite.

FSD V14 has one major new regression— swerving at high speeds for fake road obstacles. In this case, it was a bridge. On camera, this looks minor. But, at 80mph, you can see my immediate reaction & attention snapping back to catch the wheel. It was alarming.

I had the strangest critical disengagement with FSD v14.3.6 last night. FSD tried to take an exit on the highway for no reason while we were already past the ramp. I seriously think FSD is getting more dangerous as it gets better. I wasn't expecting this at all from v14. It has been incredible in those conditions, creating complacency on my part. Thankfully, I was paying attention and was able to correct it before it fully committed and drove us into a ditch, but still. Scary.

I noticed something about the summer update 2026.26.1 for Belgium with Grok implemented. I have customers that have received the update. But with a noticeable difference, it has FSD Hardware 3. Currently, that’s the only car that has had the update that we’re aware of. It’s been since July 30th already. So, is there something Tesla is waiting for to release? This is a Belgium registered car, not an imported one. We’ve got French or German imported cars that already have Grok implemented. Has anyone else in Belgium or The Netherlands with Hardware 4 already received the summer update?

I've uncovered a bit more about FSD V14's behavior in the snow. FSD has an invisible & binary "Snow Mode" where it shifts in and out of a different profile upon detection of snow-covered roads. Snow Mode is either ON or OFF. It does not appear to be a gradient based on condition severity. Example: In the video below, you can see tiny bits of snow drifting across the highway surface. Before this snow appeared, FSD drove normally (at the speed limit or above). When it saw this snow, it instantly slowed to 10-15mph under the speed limit. Then, when the snow cleared, it sped back up. It did this multiple times over a 10 mile drive: >Drive Normally >Detect Snow >Enter Snow Mode >Slow Down >Snow is gone >Exit Snow Mode >Drive Normally In this particular instance driving between various conditions, Snow Mode was unnecessary for this type of snow drifting. Pressing the accelerator or increasing the speed profile does NOT override Snow Mode. Elon said last year they may need to create different versions of FSD for different regions, driving types, and weather (Deep snow vs. Manhattan, etc). This may be our first look at that separated version of FSD that is activated under a certain condition!
