I had the strangest critical disengagement with FSD v14.3.6 last night. FSD tried to take an exit on the highway for no reason while we were already past the ramp. I seriously think FSD is getting more dangerous as it gets better. I wasn't expecting this at all from v14. It has been incredible in those conditions, creating complacency on my part. Thankfully, I was paying attention and was able to correct it before it fully committed and drove us into a ditch, but still. Scary.

Tesla FSD is now the product, and the vehicles are just the delivery system. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly suggest going to a Tesla showroom and experiencing the "magic" for yourself. It’s so hard to describe.

Just had my first FSD 14 Lite experience and it was flawless. 100% FSD from my driveway to the gym and parked centered in a parking stall. Drove home beautifully but did not back in my driveway. I’m sure it will soon. 12.6.4 always prepared to back in but stopped. This is going to be fun.

There are so many misconceptions about Tesla FSD, it can get out of hand sometimes. In reality, FSD is one of the most transformative technologies out there. With a single press of a button, it can drive you from point A to point B smoother than a human, all while being 9x safer. For some people, driving can be challenging due to anxiety or other issues. FSD cures that. It gives freedom back to people of all ages, most importantly the elderly. Autonomy is here, and it’s only getting better. When you buy a Tesla, you are buying a Personal Robotaxi. You won’t be able to live without it once you experience it on a daily basis.

A Tesla on Full Self-Driving blows through a stop sign at 35mph and nearly collides with two cars. The kicker is that this was during a livestream debate-demo-drive between FSD fan Ross Gerber and FSD skeptic Dan O'Dowd. This should go without saying, but for an automated system to be at the safety level of a human, this cannot happen. The fact that this occurred yesterday during THIS drive (along with other safety-critical disengagements) should serve as statistical evidence of how frequent this is occurring. IMO, this is the biggest nail in the Tesla FSD coffin.

If they had FSD, they never would’ve put themselves in that situation in the first place. FSD saves lives not only by preventing accidents, but also by helping reduce road rage. When the car handles the driving calmly, a lot of unnecessary anger never even starts.

With how amazing Tesla FSD has become, I’m at the point now where I actually prefer to drive rather than fly in most cases. FSD allows you to travel cover an incredible amount of distance without any major fatigue since the car handles 100% of the driving, charging, and parking. It also makes the trips so much more fun and rewarding. People always ask, don’t you get bored? My answer is actually no, we get to explore so many new places along the way, take in the scenery more, and it’s just overall a more pleasant experience than manually driving and stressing about which exit to take etc. FSD handles all of that for you. If you have a Tesla, or are planning to get one, I highly suggest taking it on a road trip somewhere. It’ll be the best roadtrip you’ve ever taken.

Tesla FSD saves a school bus full of children! My Model Y Performance braked so hard that everything on my seats ended up on the floor. It infuriates me that school bus drivers are allowed to be this bad at driving. In an autonomous future, more lives will be saved like this.

FSD literally saved my life and my wife’s tonight. Watch carefully - a car suddenly races in and merges into our lane with almost zero gap at highway speed. On the footage it’s hard to tell just how close it was, but in that exact moment me and my wife both thought “there’s no way a human could react fast enough.” FSD did. In milliseconds it calculated the distance to our front bumper and instantly slowed down perfectly, leaving safe room. Slow-mo shows exactly how razor-close it was. This wasn’t a minor correction… this was a massive accident avoided because of Full Self-Driving. This is why we trust Full Self-Driving with our family. Thank you, Tesla . This tech is next level.

FSD sees the (stupid) person crossing the road at night and slows down for them, meanwhile a human driver from the other direction nearly runs down the pedestrian. Should the person not be crossing there? Absolutely! But that’s beside the point - the reality is pedestrians do unpredictable things, and FSD is always watching for that to happen. Critical Disengagement on FSD v14.3.7. Context: The car needed to leave the parking garage and go to HEB. It started from the second floor, made its way to the top floor, and I believe it tried to find a path through this metal wire fence. If it had gone through that, it was a 6 story drop to the ground. In the dashcam clip, it is clearly visible. You can see the car is at 4 mph throughout the whole turn and is not slowing down. It wasn't trying to park because the route was set to leave the parking garage, not park in it. Either way, driving at 4 mph inches from the fencing is not okay. I have an interior GoPro recording of the whole situation. It actually tried to drive into the fencing again after I restarted FSD. In thread 👇 Obviously since I disengaged, we don't know what it truly would have done. Maybe it would have made contact and stopped. This was as far as I was going to take it as someone responsible for the vehicle, so I believe this disengagement was fair.
