This is an annual flea market where students bring their used toys, books and anything they don’t want to school to sell to their fellow schoolmates and even teachers. Before the market starts, we teach them how to advertise, price, negotiate and give change. This way, they can learn the art of buying and selling, get rid of things they don’t want and have fun. These are practical skills and knowledge that we should also give our children in Nigeria. Not all of them, but some of them will find their calling in business and can start at a young age. Our teachers have an instrumental role to play in teaching them, encouraging them and gaining other skills other than just teaching students what is in text books.
