Two weeks in the making, here's our two hour review for Nintendo Switch 2. It's our most detailed hardware test yet. We're impressed with the system - but the display is a clear disappointment.

Display is great. I love it it’s a Huge upgrade over the original Switch. This only matters of you nitpicking at everything. Most people will immediately notice how nice the games look and run on the big 8 inch screen.

The display is everything, it's a true downgrade from the switch OLED, definitely a deal breaker

Literally no one would ever notice this if it was specifically tested for and then pointed out. Not a real issue.

I think the US variants of the Switch 2 have a poor display. In the UK I have no issues or complaints about the display so I’m not sure why it’s an issue. It’s bright and vibrant for my liking?

The display is great

Love the display. VRR was so much more important to the system than OLED and currently technology is having problems with managing both. HDR could be slightly better and battery life but still a great upgrade overall over switch 1

The display may not be OLED but it looks freaking phenomenal in my eyes. I quite like it.

I respect digital foundry for what they do but I swear they just point out every little microscopic flaw of a game or product just for losers to take their clips out of context to fuel console wars 😂

The display is excellent. I too initially found it too dim, but I discovered that auto brightness was enabled by default, which significantly reduced brightness even at maximum settings.

I love it when people get mad at a tech channel for going in-depth on tech. The fact is that the screen is a downgrade from the OLED. It may look nice to you, and it does for the most part for me, but it is still a downgrade in everything but size and refresh rate.
