I hate the imaginary box in baseball. That is not the strike zone. The strike zone changes with every batter.

Anyone who doesn’t think this stuff matters has never umpired before. The way the catcher receives the pitch absolutely matters and it’s why great catchers are important to a team.

I think the position of the umpire is more of an issue than anything the catchers are doing differently. He’s over different shoulders in both breakdowns
