After he was arrested in Dallas on May 30 for allegedly driving without a valid license, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, a suspect in Texas decided to take the police wheel into his own hands. The incident happened after the suspect secretly removed his left hand from his handcuffs. When officers began driving to jail, the suspect attempted to open the squad car's rear door, prompting the officers to get out of the car, and eventually climbed into the driver’s seat and took off. One of the officers managed to jump into the backseat of the vehicle. That officer then attempted to stop the suspect by tasing him and striking him on the side of the head with his firearm. The suspect opened the driver’s side door and jumped out after driving what police said was a distance of about 1,000 feet. At that point, the police officer was able to regain control of the patrol car, and the suspect was given medical assistance before being taken back into custody, where he faces numerous charges.

ALERT: Weed police released bodycam of an officer involved in a shooting over drugs found in a car subwoofer. Officers in Weed, California, pulled over a driver after multiple driving infractions and requested a K9 unit for a narcotics investigation. The K9 then alerted the officers about a car stereo system the suspect had in the backseat of his car. Officers inspected the suspicious stereo that was not connected to the car and found what they described as a substantial amount of methamphetamines inside the stereo.
