There are some agencies that are both unionized AND have civil service protections and they've negotiated a deal where people have to come in one day a MONTH. Virginians deserve better. Kids in elementary school are afraid to get on their bus, neighbors fear being targeted at the grocery store, and workers aren’t showing up to their jobs. That is the reality we are facing in Virginia and across the country and it has to change. That’s why I signed bills into law to ban law enforcement officers from wearing masks or face coverings to conceal their identities while on duty in Virginia, and why I issued an executive order to ban ICE officers from using state property to stage immigration enforcement.
