⛵️ Global Sumud Flotilla Update, September 21: Engine Fails on Sirius-Haifa, Humanitarian Aid Is Inventoried Early Sunday morning, the engine cut off on the ship SIrius-Haifa, with the boat stopping to make repairs less than 850 nautical miles from Gaza’s shores. The boat coordinator and captain told Drop Site that it’s “very likely fixable, but we will need to wait for a mechanic to arrive and will be adrift here for quite some time.” Another boat stopped by around 10:00AM and dropped off a mechanic, who is currently working on the engine. Meanwhile, as we idle, the crew has taken the chance to organize the humanitarian aid onboard—itemizing the collection of medicine and food. GSF organizer Lisi Proença said that every boat must carry out this process so that international authorities have a record of what’s onboard and what we are taking with us to Gaza, demonstrating the humanitarian efforts of the mission. 🇮🇱 Just visited the Kereem Shalom crossing on Gaza border near Rafah. We (European Muslim scholars) have seen the humanitarian aid very closely. There is a process of passing the humanitarian aid to Gaza. Once all aid has got clearance, it is loaded in lorries and enters into the Gaza Strip. Israel is doing its best to make sure the humanitarian aid reaches to the people of Gaza not Hamas. Credit to ELNET
