It starts with helping them have a simple but broad ranging definition. To lead is to influence. And all players can influence their team mates. Influence in sport starts with action. This is level one leadership. When players compete in their High Performance Mindset…when they execute every action in their High Performance Mindset…they automatically influence others. Social and emotional contagion starts with action! One level up is influencing with confidence in mind. Many, but not all players can help others develop confidence. They just need to be shown how. Simply, they can help their teammates recall best moments, strengths, and successes. They can help teammates remember these and rehearse these…every day! By tapping into memory, players can help their teammates feel great! The next level is to influence by energy. Some, but not many players can influence others’ energy. Through voice and body language (the embodiment of that voice), players can inject feelings of energy through the bodies’ of their teammates. This takes moments of extraversion. It takes willingness to bypass any social anxiety. It takes a desire to be front and centre. Through tone of voice and assertive gestures, players can inject feelings of energy in others. The highest level is influencing through solution. Few players can do this. Few players can instruct. It takes knowledge of the game model and the responsibilities in others’ roles. Chicago Bears: The Deep Ball Façade As a Chicago Bears truther, I gotta keep it 💯 There are many Bears fans posting “Amazing” out of the pocket deep ball highlights of Caleb Williams Obviously, we don’t see those kinds of throws everyday. It’s insane!! But deep ball playmaking isn’t new to Chicago. Nor is it the focal point of Ben Johnson’s offense. If the Bears are going to be great, we have to become more efficient from the pocket. Pass percentage must go up, time in pocket must come down. Living outside the pocket will hinder our ability to be efficient and to win a Super Bowl #1 Deep Ball was always there Justin Fields in 2023 had one of the most efficient deep balls in the league. Not only that, the majority of his deep balls came from the pocket which is what you want from your QB. As good as the Bears were as a whole last year, the deep ball was far more efficient in 2023. But living on the deep ball and living out the pocket comes with limitations. We have to focus on the fundamentals #2 Ben Johnson is the catalyst Similar to 2023, Bears offense in 2024 had explosive plays followed by inconsistent offense and inept situational football by the head coach Poor offensive line, poor offensive scheme, and inept head coach were the core issues. Ryan Poles thought QB was the main issue and then 2024 happened. We learned quick that it takes more than a talented QB to win football games. Ben Johnson has alleviated all of those concerns. He has made Bears offensive line the focal point! His scheme has been top of the league since he became OC in Detroit. And his situational football awareness far superior than Eberflus. Bears fans must recognize that Ben Johnson is the catalyst of the Bears offensive turnaround, and team success. Now give him what he needs! He wants 3 tight ends? Give it to him He wants more Luther Burden? Give it to him He wants more efficiency out of his QB? Let’s make that the focal point.. #3 Ben Johnson needs a point guard at QB Efficiency in the pocket, time to throw, and passing EPA are far more important to Ben Johnson’s offense than out of pocket deep balls. We need Caleb to be that killer still, but it’s the fundamentals that will allow Bears to take the next step. This offense doesn’t need a Michael Jordan at QB. Ben Johnson would much rather have an Isiah Thomas at QB because this offense has enough Bad Boys to get the job done. Feed the WRs! Get the ball out of your hands quicker! Allow deep ball to be the counter punch of the offense. #4 It’s all there.. The pre-snap awareness, post snap awareness, efficiency from pocket, and pass velocity all scream franchise QB. When you look at Caleb Williams in the pocket on short to intermediate passes, it looks effortless. The ball leaves his hand lightning quick, it’s placed where it’s supposed to be, and WR is able to make a play after the catch. We have to see more of this and it starts now. CW has to trust Ben Johnson’s offense and his WRs more. Conclusion: If we wanted a QB to scramble and throw deep balls, Justin Fields would still be a Chicago Bear What makes Caleb unique, is that he can be a hunter down the field but also has the upside to be a Drew Brees type of QB in the pocket. I rather see more clips of Caleb playing in rhythm and in the pocket , than deep bombs out the pocket. There will be struggles, but that’s ok. I much rather see our QB struggle making the right throws in OTAs than masking it with his gift as an out the pocket thrower.

QB Pat N Go Screen Drill - Every player in the program should be trained on the screen game, specifically focusing on keeping their eyes on the corner during the fast screen. - Receivers must execute a hard step, catch the ball, and immediately work to the sideline while maintaining a distance of five yards. - The drill follows a specific four-part progression that includes the short fade, hard slant, quick screen, and fast screen to build a rhythm for the offense. - Ball security is critical; players must tuck the ball as fast as possible into the outside arm and keep it high and tight. - For the bubble screen portion, players are coached to gain two to three yards of both width and depth during the route. - This rapid-fire drill is designed to maximize individual instruction time for quarterbacks, allowing them to get a high volume of throws in a short period. His commitment to the mental game has been consistent and intentional every step of the way. A good reminder: The results you are getting are PERFECT for the process you have in place. Jim Schlossnagle and his Texas A&M Baseball team have identified a process to stay consistent, play one pitch at a time and focus on the controllables. The separator? They have stayed committed to their process. It is one thing to identify a process... It's another thing to execute it on a day-to-day basis regardless of what is happening. He mentions that the first thing they do at Texas A&M Baseball, at the start of fall is review the mental game and emphasize routines and the importance of playing one pitch at a time. "Mental skills are something we practice. We invest a lot of time, effort, and money into mental skills. Mental skills can be practiced just like physical skills can be practiced." Wim Wenders on 'Bad Day at Black Rock' (1955): "A dusty American colour film by John Sturges where everything’s so right and correct that it is almost unbearable. You could say of this John Sturges film that it doesn’t show a succession of images, but of sentences. A whole dozen of these sentences are written up in the display cases of the theatres showing 'Bad Day at Black Rock' Stills of old colour films have a peculiar charm, because they seem completely detached from the film and tend to look more like old hand coloured postcards than the actual scenes in the film. You can recognize, though, with surprise, the stills from 'Bad Day at Black Rock' when you’re watching the actual film; you can even spot the precise moment they captured. The film retains the impression that the coloured photographs have left behind. All the way through it looks hand-painted. The backdrops of the landscape that constantly show through windows or doors have more in common with paintings by Magritte than with the real landscape shown in the outdoor scenes. But even these look much more like a mile-wide, sky-high stage-set built in a gigantic studio. Every thing in this film, by itself, was the most exact and the most right and the most suitable that could be. Every object was so right that it could form a completely self-contained sentence, it could be distinguished from all the others around it, but for precisely this reason it suited everything else perfectly. One criticism I always see towards games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto VI recently is the topic of small details. "Why does a game need so many details, it doesn't make the experience any better and takes longer to develop" While I do agree with the fact that Rockstar Games development schedules in between each release keep getting longer, the fact is that when you aim for such a high level of realism in a video-game, its not about graphics anymore, its about immersion. I'm sure that if you played RDR2, you know that your horse sweating or its balls shrinking in the cold don't add much to the gameplay itself, but it makes the game feel like its real. This is precisely what sets apart Rockstar Games from other game studios, the level of immersion you get in those games is unbeaten. RDR2, a game designed for the PS4 console has a level of fluidity and immersion that I have yet to see in a video-game from any other game studio, each game mechanic seems to work flawlessly that it feels like a living and breathing open world game. Hell, sometimes you feel bad for shooting an NPC which never happened to me in a video-game before. When you're playing it, hours can go by and you don't even. In other open-world games, sometimes you can notice limitations, for example the same NPCs appearing in one object or the same scripted conversations. RDR2 manages to make that gap of a video-game and reality feel thinner, not get rid of it entirely of course. Making such a massive game filled with tons of details means that it can be can be played for multiple years after its release and not feel outdated. Its not all about details of course, when a game takes so long to develop, the stakes get higher each time and Rockstar Games has to make sure that they deliver on the story that is being told too, hence the reason why their games have always been historically good in terms of writing. Now to address the elephant int he room, the main issue is that as the complexity increases for each new release and optimizing all of these systems to work in tandem, the development time increases and we get longer periods of waiting. Is all of this worth it? In my opinion, yes. Its Rockstar Games after all, they have the budget necessary and the talent to achieve this kind of feat. Not only does it raise the bar for what is possible to do in a video-game, but it also is highly rewarding when you play the game for the first time and its unlike anything you've seen these past couple of years. Here is a throwback to Gruden’s QB camp with Patrick Mahomes. Please understand I’m a hardcore Bears fan that has witnessed terrible QB play for over 30 years. Caleb Williams is my QB, and I want nothing but success from his career. I will say outright, Caleb Williams has the most arm talent of any Bears QB ever. He has many traits similar to elite QBs, and that includes Patrick Mahomes. But I see Mahomes as a completely different college prospect based a few unique traits. With that being said, Caleb is still a generational prospect with traits that can be developed into a top 5 franchise QB. He is capable of winning superbowls, but he is still raw in a couple of essential areas. I see him as a mashup of Murray, Rodgers, Hurts, and Mahomes. How he develops under center will determine career path. He holds the ball longer than Mahomes but is adept in playing out of structure. I believe good coaching will lead to him being deadly in structure. I seriously hope our coaches recognize those differences and develop him to be his own player. He may not want to be a rushing QB in the league, but I believe his mobility will be a huge asset in the pros as it is for mobile QBs. Why not use it as he develops to play in structure. I have finally come to the conclusion that the Bears will draft Caleb Williams, arguably the highest upside in a QB since Luck. But then I started seeing legit buzz on a QB I have watched the least. In my head, JJ McCarthy was average and there is no way he is going top 10. I couldn’t be anymore wrong than that. I am hearing he is going top 4 folks, and some believe he could go top 3. I won’t pretend like I have been high on McCarthy, but when I started watching his film, I was surprised at his poise, footwork, arm talent, and athleticism. He plays the game like a pro QB. This guy looks like a grown man playing QB among boys. But, I was puzzled at his lack of production. One thing I am learning when evaluating QBs is the fact that traits weigh just as heavily as production. Teams must factor in what a player is tasked to do and what a player is capable of doing. Harbaugh has coached JJ to play as efficient as possible. He plays far beyond his age and his game should easily translate to the pros. He has the arm talent to throw deep bombs, the athleticism to be complete dual threat QB, and the discernment to make the best use of his talents. He is efficient in managing a game and keeping the sticks moving. Point blank, this guy doesn’t give a damn about personal accolades or the spotlight. He is just a winner. He is tough as nails mentally and physically (he puts extra focus into mental health). He has that “IT” factor where teammates and coaches just believe in his will to win. He won 2 state championships at Nazareth Academy in Chicago and 1 at IMG academy. He led the Wolverines to an undefeated record and national championship. He is a hometown kid coached by a former Chicago Bears QB. Simply put, This is not a guy to overlook folks. He probably wants to be a Chicago Bear far more than any other player in this draft. Shedeur Sanders is a Top QB in this draft, a difference maker and a LEADER. What Deion Sanders accomplished together with his Sons should be APPLAUDED not picked apart and used against them. They went to Jackson State together and turned that program around. They went to Colorado together and turned that program around. Deion didn’t do it with kid gloves on either. When Sheduer needed to play better, he voiced it for the team to see and hear. When Shilo played bad and Deion was asked about it, he called it out in front of the world and guess what? Shilo responded by getting better. Completely changed their season. If you wonder if Shedeur can be coached by anyone other than his Dad, just know that Shedeur Sanders had 6 different offensive coordinators in 4 years of College Football. Not only can he be coached by someone else, he showed growth and development EVERY YEAR he played despite having a new system and new play caller. If you are trying to diminish what these young men have accomplished. Stop it. If you are trying to question if they can be coached, stop it. The Donetsk directions remain the toughest, with updates from Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions as well. There are details regarding the situation in the Kursk region: battles involving North Korean soldiers. They are suffering heavy losses, and it’s evident that the Russian military and their North Korean overseers have no interest in these soldiers’ survival. Everything is done in a way to prevent these North Koreans from being captured by us—their own side finishes them off; there are such facts. Moreover, Russians send them into assaults with minimal protection. Today, we received reports that several North Korean soldiers were taken prisoner by our forces. However, they were severely wounded, and it was not possible to save them. This is one of the manifestations of the madness dictatorships are capable of. The people of North Korea should not be losing their lives in battles in Europe. This can be influenced, among others, by North Korea’s neighbors, particularly China. If China is sincere in its statements that the war should not expend, it needs to exert the necessary influence on Pyongyang.
