A fire broke out yesterday at Yongqing Temple in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, China, destroying the Wenchang Pavilion. The pavilion that burned was a modern reconstruction, not the original ancient structure, but it was still a striking part of the temple complex. Other parts of the historic temple, which dates back to 536 AD, appear to be unharmed. No casualties have been reported.

Did you know this is OFFICIALLY the FIRST temple 🛕 that opens its doors to devotees before any other temple in India, everyday ❓😊👇 This 1500 years old temple in Kottayam opens its doors at 2am everyday. Vigraham: Shri Krishna The story is interesting. Its said that #AdiShankaracharya pointed out that Krishna here is always hungry. So unlike other Hindu temples, this Thiruvarpu Krishna temple is not closed even during the eclipse. Apparently, once the temple was closed at the time of the #eclipse but later when the temple was reopened the very next day, they saw Lord Krishna's waist ornament (Bhagavan's kamarbandh) had slipped down. This is when Adi Shankaracharya visited the the temple and said that it happened because Krishna was very hungry.
