Someone was asking about Jimbo. Jimbo was a kodiak bear who weighed over 1500 pounds and still over 10.5 feet tall. He came to us as a cub and died a few years ago from liver cancer. He lived a long time and had a good life but had been born from captive born parents in a wildlife “park” that went bankrupt. He couldn’t be released and he lived out his life here at the Orphaned Wildlife Center. He was very much loved and being given a cake for his birthday. And yes - that is Leo in this video with him. :)

This one is hard to watch. Deontae Faison was at the park when a cop approached him screaming with his weapon drawn, simply over an expired tag. Scared, Deontae ran, but ended up being tased near the edge of the water, once in the water the cop continued to tase Deontae while he screamed for help. 30 minutes passed and he wasn't pulled from the water until he was unconscious.

This is Troy Jackson, the man who has taken the Democratic nomination in Maine that once went to Graham Platner. The question is, is he an improvement? Well... Maybe? He doesn't have a giant Nazi tattoo on his chest, at least. He has used the rhetoric of "genocide" and calling out AIPAC, but this doesn't seem to be an issue he talks about much at all. It almost appears that making these statements was a qualification to be nominated, which is scary, but more a condemnation of the political climate rather than the individual. But, as Morris Katz pointed out with Platner, candidates for the Senate should be held to a very high standard. As of now, Maine's Jews seem uncertain of the future, a reality many Jews are living with right now.
