RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat ji’s remarks on Gen Z are a thoughtful beginning. “Their grievance is genuine.” He also makes an important distinction: in a democracy, protest is a legitimate means to build consensus when dialogue fails, but it must aim to resolve differences, not deepen divisions. Recognising genuine concerns while reaffirming the value of dialogue is the hallmark of a confident democracy. When I enquired about his age, he didn’t turn out a Gen-Z. This is the problem with those in power. They don’t understand the young generation’s language.
