🚨BREAKING CBSE COMPARTMENT EXAM 2026🚨 Ahead of the Class 12 CBSE Compartment Examination scheduled for 28 July 2026, many students across India are reportedly demanding that the examination be postponed or cancelled, with some also requesting grace marks. CBSE Class 12 result 2026 has raised serious questions. In 2025, 16.92 lakh students appeared. In 2026, 17.68 lakh students appeared — 76,000+ more students. But despite more students appearing: • Pass percentage fell from 88.39% to 85.20% • 90%+ scorers fell from 1,11,544 to 94,028 • 95%+ scorers fell from 24,867 to 17,113 This happened in the first large-scale year of On-Screen Marking, where Class 12 answer sheets were scanned and checked digitally. CBSE had around 98.67 lakh answer sheets and around 70,000 evaluators. Simple average: around 141 answer sheets per evaluator. If checked in 8–9 days, that means around 16–18 papers per day. Teachers had already raised complaints about blurred scans, slow downloads, server issues and checking pressure. So the question is simple: If a new digital checking system was used, and the result pattern changed so sharply, why is CBSE not giving complete transparency? Students are not asking for free marks. They are asking for fair verification, affordable re-evaluation, answer-sheet access and accountability. CBSE must take responsibility!

We will charge a fee of Rs 100 from any student who wishes to view their answer sheets; a separate fee of Rs 100 applies if they wish to have their papers validated; and a fee of Rs 25 applies for the re-checking of the answer to any specific question. We have decided that if, during the scrutiny process, a student's marks increase or are revised upwards, we will refund the entire amount paid by them for the re-evaluation..." He also says, "Whether it is the Ministry of Education or the CBSE, the welfare and concerns of all our children are of paramount importance to us. Therefore, we want to ensure that no child feels, for any reason whatsoever, that they have received lower marks than they deserve—either based on their merit or the actual performance reflected in the answers they wrote during the examination. The provision for re-evaluation has always existed within the CBSE framework... We will ensure that the marks awarded, including the totalling of scores, are absolutely accurate... #WATCH | Delhi: On Class 12 examination results, CBSE Controller of Examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj says, "The CBSE is an institution that works in the best interest of the students, and we operate with complete transparency. We evaluate approximately 1.25 crore answer scripts; there is a possibility that an error may occur somewhere. To rectify such errors, we offer certain facilities to our students. The first facility allows our students to request a copy of their evaluated answer scripts. The window to request these answer scripts will open on the 19th, and students may apply for them until the 22nd. Once they receive their answer scripts, they can review them to check if there are any errors within them. If they identify any errors, they should make a note of them; subsequently, a second window will open from the 26th to the 29th, during which they can apply to report that there are issues or discrepancies in their answer scripts that need to be addressed. If any error is detected—and if our panel of experts confirms that an error indeed exists—that error will be rectified immediately. Furthermore, if correcting that error results in the student being entitled to higher marks, those additional marks will be duly awarded. It is also imperative to clarify here that, conversely, if the correction of an error results in a lower score, the student's marks will be reduced accordingly..."

This year answer sheets were scanned digitally and checked by teachers on computers and not physically. Nearly 98.6 lakh answer sheets were evaluated. But the moment results came, found that The class 12 pass percentage dropped to 85.2% down from 88.39% last year, the sharpest fall in seven years. Across schools in the country, students who have consistently scored above 90 per cent through school exams, pre-boards, and coaching assessments said this year’s Class 12 board marks have left them shocked, confused, and emotionally shaken. This is not my Imagination but The Indian Express reported this on May 18, 2026 report. And when the students expressed their distress online? The response from our ITCELLIAS wad labelling India's future aged maximum 17/18 as Pakistani. What kind of nation are we building? Who will stop this? Who will take the accountability? We are more concerned about the well-being, welfare, and mental state of our children. Money is important, but it is not the priority in this particular matter..." There will be 0 fees for the upcoming examination... Prima facie, the NTA has decided to give students one week to choose their preferred examination city again... Keeping students’ convenience and time constraints in mind, the NTA has decided to extend the examination duration by 15 minutes. The exam, which was scheduled from 2 pm to 5 pm, will now continue till 5.15 pm..." He also says, "The admit cards for this examination will be issued to all candidates by June 14... The Government of India will speak to the states regarding the arrangement of transport facilities for students, and I will also personally speak with Chief Ministers so that students face minimal difficulties in transportation during the NEET examination this time... The NTA is also considering an alternative arrangement in view of the weather changes on June 21st..."

#WATCH | Delhi: Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, says, "This time when the 12th class exams were conducted, the answer sheets were scanned, and their PDF copies were made. The total number of answer sheets of 98 lakh students who took the examination was scanned, and three levels of security were also maintained in scanning... One advantage of this has been that the mistakes that sometimes used to happen in totalling have been completely eliminated. This decision was taken, and teachers were trained in this... Ultimately, it was also found that in the end, we had about 13,000 such answer sheets, which we found that no matter how many times we scanned them, there was some illegibility in them because the ink used was of very light colour, so after scanning, we were not able to make that legible. The teachers were told that the 13,000 answer sheets were taken out and checked manually, and after checking manually, the marks obtained on those were introduced by us. I would like to say that special attention has been given to the security level and the issues, so that the marking done through on-screen marking is accurate..."

The brutal and cruel attitude of this Modi government was witnessed in the national capital yesterday. Students from all over the country are here to protest over the NEET and CBSE exams. The students of India have genuine issues. They are holding a peaceful protest over those issues. Is this the way to deal with a peaceful protest? This government is scared and completely insensitive. We are going to raise this issue again in the House today. We have already moved an adjournment motion condemning the lathi charge, asking for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and asking for a clear-cut action on NEET and CBSE exam leaks. Modi is totally anti-student and anti-youth. He does not understand the psychology and pain of the students and youth of this country. He is completely responsible for yesterday's incident. Whenever there is a public agitation and people are expressing their sentiments, the government should call them and try to address their concerns. Instead, it resorts to lathi charges and tear gas. #WATCH | Delhi: On CBSE OSM issue, Aparajita Gautam from Delhi Parents Association says, "... After the 12th board exams, and CBSE results, their future is decided.. Because of shortcomings in OSM (On-Screen Marking), many parents and children are disappointed. Students don’t just prepare in Class 12; they’ve been working for years, knowing their future depends on it. Students remain focused on competitive exams like JEE and NEET. But due to OSM, many didn’t achieve the required marks, causing stress for families and children. Now, they question why this was introduced suddenly without a proper test run. On social media, students are voicing complaints, though not all reach us directly, but the frustration is clear. If you check CBSE’s Facebook page, you’ll see countless complaints. The official figure says 6.5 lakh students raised objections, but I believe the number should be far higher. Out of 18 lakh students, 12 lakh are from government schools, many in rural areas. If metro city students with laptops struggled, imagine the difficulties faced by rural children with limited access... Training was rushed, with follow-ups missing. Teachers had to log in and practise with sample papers, yet no one verified whether they actually did. Another issue: papers were supposed to be checked by PGT teachers, but due to shortages, TGT teachers were involved. TGTs usually teach up to Class 10, so they may not have fully understood the marking scheme. This could be a reason why some students received lower marks."
