Despite outcry from consumers across the country, multiple giant supermarket chains are implementing digital price labels and dynamic pricing strategies where the cost of items fluctuate frequently based on multiple factors. Walmart, the country's largest grocer, hopes to have digital price labels at 2,300 U.S. stores by 2026. Kroger is expanding the use of digital labels this year after testing them at 20 stores. Whole Foods is testing the labels in nearly 50 stores. Customers worry these digital labels will let companies raise prices at a moment's notice, making greater profits off essential items at the grocery store.

FTC documents show Pepsi is price fixing The FTC looked at internal emails with Pepsi and Walmart, they found they act as one company and Pepsi even takes action against grocery stores and other chains like Target if they price Pepsi as cheaply as Walmart does “The FTC looked at a bunch of internal Pepsi emails and communications. The executives at Pepsi would talk about Walmart's prices as our prices. As if this is, this is all one big company — Big rivals like Target, small mom and pop shops, regional chains, everywhere it could keep an eye on it, it did. It’s disturbing and shocking. Ironically France right this moment is scrambling to build its own Biometric Digital ID system, which the country is negotiating with the entire EU for the whole of the Europe to adopt. The goal is to expand into passports, facial recognition border technology and currency. France has stated that they want to build this to a global digital system.
