Woah! Amazing feels here in #Florida. We woke up to 50s and 60s from Tampa-Orlando north. What’s driving this crazy nice weather pattern?? It’s a huge block, which may send another shot our way! Here’s why… a big heat dome over Canada and the Great Lakes is contorting the pattern, acting as a road block, forcing weather around it. The end result is #cool dry Canadian air pouring down the US East Coast into Florida. This crisp low humidity weather will last through Sunday, and if the next shot indeed comes down next week, then it will be mainly rain free through Midweek. But don’t get used to it, deep tropical moisture sitting in the Gulf is ready to pounce as soon as the dry air eases. Meantime Texas and Louisiana is in the firing line for moisture and rain as the pattern is locked in. Stay tuned because honestly this pattern is so out of the ordinary it is almost impossible to forecast beyond 5 days. It could shift anytime next week.

Drought to Deluge! Developing El Niño gives us an early preview of the pattern for late fall and winter. A strong Subtropical Jetstream will hover near Texas, Louisiana and the lower MS Valley through the next 1-2 weeks. Rainfall may total a foot plus in spots in the next 10 days with more possible after that. Medium range models can underestimate the rainfall. This jet is powered by a record warm Eastern Pacific, associated with the developing El Niño. There’s some chance this moisture axis will move east towards #Florida in about 2 weeks, but it’s too early to know. This active subtropical jet pattern is a preview of the stormy El Niño setup late fall into winter for the Southeast. #drought #rain #flood

TEXAS FLOODS-Here’s a radar loop from the main event. From Thursday afternoon, July 3rd, through Sunday evening, July 6th. A leftover “plume” of tropical moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry surged north into the state, in combination with elevated moisture from the eastern Pacific from Hurricane Flossie. A shortwave trough emerged from the northwest along with some upper spin from the Gulf, and aided the formation of an MCV over central Texas. Starting late Wednesday, a funnel of this tropical moisture began feeding into the Hill Country, and along with the approaching shortwave, fueled the development of the MCV or (mesoscale convective vortex). This “spin” or the MCV, continued to produce widespread tropical downpours and thunderstorms overnight into Friday morning, July 4th. A burst of low-level air and moisture transport, what’s called the LLJ (Low-level jet) also continued to funnel moisture in to this MCV and continued storms overnight. This was where the bulk of the flooding occurred, and filled downstream rivers and tributaries. Each subsequent day brought bursts of convectively-driven showers and storms that would further exacerbate the flooding situation, on top of what already fell. This continues today, with more showers and storms forming as we speak. #txwx #TexasFloods

Sunday, July 26, 2026, 7:33 AM: Due to the consistently strong southeasterly flow around the main monsoonal high-pressure axis that’s over eastern Utah and Western Colorado, it has been slowly pushing its westward trajectory in the last 72 hours. This is allowing for a significant embedded robust easterly inverted trough in combination with the peripheral might of Genevieve, which continues to strengthen as the strongest hurricane so far this year in the eastern Pacific region. Hurricane Genevieve is now a Category 3 storm. The tropical system is approximately 300 miles south of Cabo San Lucas; the axis symmetry is allowing for northward tropical moisture into Southern California, bringing tropical showers into San Diego to Santa Barbara today. In fact, there’s been some rain in Oceanside and downtown San Diego in the last three hours. This all contributes to the strengthening of El Nino very warm sea surface temperatures allowing tropical systems to get even stronger and more intense heat waves this Summer 2026 so far. #CAwx #Monsoon #Genevieve #ElNiño #heatwave

SAHARAN DUST IS HERE! 🏜️🐪 The largest plumes of the year move in today for Florida and the Gulf Coast and will continue into next week. The dust can weaken or suppress tropical activity in impacted areas, bring vibrant sunrises and sunsets, but also bring unhealthy air quality if thick enough.

Sunday, September 13, 2026 10:27 AM: The latest water vapor satellite shows two 564 DM Gulf of Alaskan Low’s approximately 300 miles apart one off of Washington and Oregon and another in the central Pacific is an indication that our weather is starting to change to that late fall and winter pattern very shortly, influenced by our ongoing strong El Niño development. The current Gulf of Alaskan Low’s are influencing much cooler welcoming weather for the majority of the Western United States for the next four-day period. The monsoonal high axis will move back over central and Northern Arizona and eastern sections of Southern California, including Nevada by this upcoming weekend. Unfortunately, most likely another 592 to 594 DM high-pressure axis is still being looked at closely in our region. This will trend to bring back the uncomfortable heat index and high humidity and that includes dew points 55F - 64F with temperatures of 95° to 103° possible especially for the Inland valleys and desert locations and perhaps isolated parts of the coastal plain are in question. Depending on the exact position of the high-pressure axis on this upcoming Friday at 2 AM, reinforcement of Gulf of Alaska lows will also play a critical role with the ongoing active tropics and it’s teleconnecting moisture and trajectory outlook for the region. Simultaneously have the eastern Pacific hurricane season is in prime peak time. In addition more tropical systems off Acapulco, Mexico current 97E, and a new disturbance for a secondary tropical system taking shape by Thursday at 4 PM. More details are developing and I am continuing to watch this over the next 32 to 72 hours, with complex weather situations developing for our region. #CAwx #heatwave #HurricaneSeason2026 #ElNiño

🚨 TROPICAL STORM Bertha is likely to form in the Gulf off the coast of Florida in the coming days. Spaghetti models have this storm traveling slowly west and primarily parallel with the Gulf Coast states, making landfall around New Orleans. Hurricane potential is there. But regardless, this is looking to turn into a historic, catastrophic flooding event from Tampa Bay all the way to Houston.

🌀 Saturday video discussion on newly-formed Tropical Storm #Milton in the Gulf of Mexico that is expected to intensify and hit #Florida as a hurricane next week. 🌀 There remains uncertainty in how strong the storm will be and exactly where it makes landfall, but significant impacts to much of the western Florida coastline are likely regardless of these details.

👀 What looks like a tropical storm in the Gulf near Florida is not what it seems. It's called a mesoscale convective vortex and is spin in the middle part of the atmosphere, not at the surface. NHC gives a 30% chance of development into next week. Next name on the list is Bertha

Clipse says that Pharrell forced them to be more structured with their verses instead of freestyling, which helped ‘LGSEO’ go from good to great: “This whole album was based on ‘stay in the pattern and inject all of the steroids into the pattern’ and he was right” We Sound Crazy

Thank you, Danielle Smith, for sending us Canadian whiskey in honor of our Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers. Florida may be the most tropical state in the United States, yet we have held the Stanley Cup for 3 of the last 5 years between the Lightning and Panthers. Florida has become a hockey state! Cheers to conservative leadership in the U.S.A. and Canada!

COLD & SNOWY EUROPE! Brutal cold across Northern Europe (20°C below normal now) will overspread most of Europe soon, with cold dropping into the #Mediterranean, #Italy and the #Balkans. Over the next 10 days heavy snow will fall in spots with over 100 CM in parts of the Balkans and 50cm+ over the Alps and central Italian mountain ranges. This is all due to unusually warm air over Greenland, called the Greenland Block. It will displace cold air South over Europe and make for a wintry stretch for ~10 days #fyp #olympics #Europe #Weather #cold #snow

A very active weather pattern is setting up for next week, with multiple storm systems lined up to sweep across the US. It'll all begin with heavy rain slamming the West Coast this weekend into early next week, then the pattern shifts east as a parade of storms brings widespread rain, warm temperatures, and even the potential for severe weather. Because of the warmth, most of these will be rain makers, with only our brotheren in the western mountains being the only folks to get in on the snow. And although Severe Weather is certainty possible, the details still need to be ironed out. Nothing is guaranteed - but it’s definitely on the table in this setup. Get ready to get wet. 🌧️
