Today, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar caused embarrassment for a Chinese construction company! The only entire building that collapsed in Bangkok was the nearly completed Thailand Audit Office building, constructed by China Railway No. 10 Engineering Group Urban Construction Company. During the visit, I will also have the honour of meeting the President of Azerbaijan, H.E. The persecution of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh took centre stage in Australia today as protest rallies were held in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Several hundred attended the Sydney rally. Over a dozen representatives of Australian organisations as well as politicians addressed the event. Australian Hindu Association President – Amendra Singh urged the Australian government to impose sanctions on Bangladesh ‘unless and until the human rights of minorities are restored.’ He described the current situation in Bangladesh under Mohammed Yunus as a ‘pogrom against minorities.’ Other speakers included leaders of the the Australian Federation for Bangladeshi Minorities, Ramyavaran Vasu from the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh and Sai Paravastu from the Hindu Council. The Melbourne rally also attracted several hundred protestors. There too, multiple speakers slammed the treatment of minorities in Bangladesh. The Perth protest is in progress.

The U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg Keith Kellogg, is in Kyiv today. I am grateful for a constructive meeting. We discussed various vectors of cooperation – how to achieve real peace and guarantee Ukraine’s security. These include projects within the PURL initiative for financing production and procurement of Patriot systems, strong bilateral agreements on co-production of drones and weapons that we have proposed to America. We count on a positive response from the United States. We had a substantive discussion on stepping up pressure on the Russians and what we can do together with partners in tariff and sanctions policy to enable a meeting at the leaders’ level at the earliest and bring this war to an end. A trilateral leaders’ format is undoubtedly the most effective. We also discussed the return of abducted Ukrainian children, international cooperation on this track, and the conditions in which our children are being held. I expressed condolences to the American people over the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk and thanked President Trump for his condolences and response to the brutal murder of Ukrainian citizen Iryna Zarutska in North Carolina. It is important that justice prevail every time violence seeks to take hold. We are also preparing for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. We discussed planned events, coordination between Ukraine and the U.S., and work within the Coalition of the Willing. We are working on potential meetings and various formats.

The name of the joint IDF, Shin Bet, and police operation to rescue the four hostages from the Gaza Strip is "Seeds of Summer." At 11:00 a.m. the order was given to the Yamam and Shin Bet officers to raid two multi-story buildings in central Gaza's Nuseirat, where Hamas was holding hostages Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv. The buildings were about 200 meters apart, and the decision to go for both simultaneously, and not just one of the sites, was due to the possibility that Hamas may murder the hostages after identifying the rescue operation. Argamani was held by Hamas guards alone in the home of a Palestinian family, while the other three hostages were held at a separate home. According to the IDF, Hamas pays such families to hold the hostages in their homes. At the home where Meir Jan, Kozlov, and Ziv were held, a major gun battle erupted, during which Yamam officer Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora, the commander of the rescue team at the second building, was critically wounded by Hamas fire. As the three hostages and Zamora were being extracted, their vehicle came under fire, leading it to get stuck. Other forces quickly reached the scene to rescue them, bringing them to a makeshift helipad in Gaza. There was a large amount of gunfire and RPG fire on the rescue forces amid the operation, leading the ground troops and the Air Force to carry out major strikes in the area to protect themselves and the rescued hostages. The IDF acknowledges that it killed many Palestinian civilians amid the fighting, although it places the blame on Hamas for holding hostages in a civilian environment. Hamas operatives also fired anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli helicopters over the area amid the operation, without success.

Other forces quickly reached the scene to rescue them, bringing them to a makeshift helipad in Gaza.
