Tesla said Thursday it is recalling nearly all Cyber "trucks" in the United States to fix an exterior panel that could detach while driving, the latest in a series of call-backs for the "truck". The recall covers just over 46,000 vehicles built from November 2023 through Feb. 27 of this year, Tesla said in a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

American is in a self driving Waymo When he got in he realized the estimated time to his destination is way longer than it should be The Waymo is taking him in opposite directions, is circling random parking lots and won’t listen to him He’s calling support form inside the Waymo and the only option they have is to have him get out and book an Uber and they’ll refund him But now he’s in the middle of nowhere on a highway…. It was only supposed to take 7 minutes to get home but the trip is now 40+ minutes in the Waymo…. And now they want him to just get out and book an Uber At the end of the video he shows the Waymo vehicle screen, there is another 28 minutes until her gets to his destination He says he won’t be taking another driverless vehicle. I agree, I wouldn’t get into a Waymo either Rumor has it he’s still in the Waymo…..

NEWS: Aurora’s driverless trucks can now run longer than humans drivers are legally allowed. The company said the latest software update to its driverless hardware suite will enable its trucks to drive nonstop from Phoenix to Fort Worth. That trip is roughly 1,000 miles long and takes 15 hours to complete. By contrast, a human driver would legally have to take a 30 minute break after 11 hours of driving. The company currently has five autonomous trucks carrying cargo without safety monitors between Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth and El Paso, Texas. There is now an active rescue operation underway at the Potomac River in Washington D.C. after a passenger plane operated by American Airlines collided midair with a Black Hawk helicopter while trying to land. CBS News' Kris Van Cleave reports that this is the first commercial airline crash in the United States since a regional flight crashed in Buffalo, New York in 2009. "This was an unparalleled period of aviation safety that appears to have come to an end tonight," Van Cleave said.

The closure is expected to last until about 10 o'clock tonight. CBS News senior transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave reports that while the FAA is still investigating exactly what went wrong, the incident was so upsetting that about a half dozen air traffic controllers went on trauma leave as a result of the experience.

It should drastically lower Waymo's vehicle cost, standardize the platform, and allow them to ramp up volume quickly. No word on production volume or pricing but it will be in production by the end of the year, according to Hyundai's team.
