We open an app, message a total stranger, climb into their car, and sometimes even... take a bottle of water or a mint they offer us. My app is set up with a personal contact that is notified as soon as the Uber driver puts my pin into his phone, then it notifies my PC that I am route to my destination. As somebody who used to drive Uber, you have no idea how unsafe it is to let strangers into your vehicle. I’ve had people threaten to shoot me. I’ve had teenagers inside my vehicle that we were playing with pocket knives while sitting behind me. So you can take this video and shove it up your ass. Identify yourself first. You get a license plate and a make and moddle, drivers get a name and that’s it. If your driver wants verification- give it to him. He is providing you with a service. This is obviously a skit, but the reality of it is the same. I have cancelled rides for the same reason as him. Safety for your uber driver is your name only. Be respectful!

It does matter how angry you get. You must say the driver's name first and the driver says your name, secondly. If that is too traumatic, do not get an Uber.

To be quite fair, with uber you do have to look at the license plate to make sure it’s the right car. Cause people will just climb into any car thinking it’s uber when it’s not. And looking at the uber app you will be able to see the driver name.
