My work has never been to remove vaccines from the planet. My work is the right to choose. If we are free citizens, if I control my own body, then I must be able to control what gets injected into it. And if those are my children, then I should be able to decide whether they get vaccinated. If the government can override that decision, then my children are property of the state. That is not a free country. And another thing - we worry about gain-of-function research, about scientists making a pathogen more contagious so it can spread to more people. That's the fear. But what's the functional difference between a disease that spreads on its own to a million people and a government program that injects all seven billion of us with it? The contagion question becomes irrelevant the moment you have a mandate and a needle. That is what makes mRNA technology so consequential in the wrong hands. It doesn't introduce a foreign protein. It turns your body into a factory that produces it. Today, in no other government have we had a situation where hospital bills are paid, everyone is going to be covered by universal health care regardless of whether you have a job or not. There is no time that we have deliberately thought about having affordable housing so that people are not living in shacks. Shuler: If you think about every industrial revolution we’ve been through, working people have helped us make that transition. It’s really because we’ve helped tame the technology and figured out how to use it in the most effective way. So I think your question about augmentation versus replacement is the big question we have. If we can all agree that this is about making our jobs better, safer, easier, and more productive, then we’re all in. But if you’re looking to de-skill, dehumanize, and replace workers, to put people out on the street with no path forward, then absolutely you’re going to have a revolution. So I think that’s something we all need to be very real about and think seriously about. If we’re going to have productivity gains, working people—the ones who make these industries happen—need to share in that. There hasn’t been a lot of discussion about that here. Of course, in terms of how we create policies, how we create tax infrastructure, whether or not we are redistributing—yes, that word is a dirty word around here—we need to talk about it and confront how we’re going to make sure working people share in the gains of these technologies. And if you look at the numbers of jobs, let’s talk about job quality. Yes, maybe there are a lot of jobs created, but what kind of jobs are we talking about? Are they jobs that can sustain a family? Is it a job where people can actually work one job? One job should be enough.

Is customer really a king or a slave? Heard my colleagues speak about the long queues at stores to buy iPhone15. Some people even traveled from Gujarat to Mumbai and stayed in a queue for some 17 hours to grab an iPhone. In Delhi, a fight broke out at an iPhone store leading to blows from both sides. This makes one ponder over a few things: 1. While I understand that iPhone is a good phone but standing in queue for 17 hours? 2. Having a sleepless night outside a store so that you are first in the queue in the morning ? 3. Travelling to a different city/state to buy an iPhone? Are we that much out of work? 4. Is a month's wait a lot of time when the product readily gets available at our nearby stores? 5. Also, most in the queue might already have an iPhone but are in line to get the latest device. Does it warrant the madness? 6. This leads me to think if the customer is really the king or a slave to a brand? As a society, we clearly need to course correct our madness. Gone are the days when somebody asked you about the phone you carry. So, wake up! We have reached the moon. Evening thoughts!
