And she had to maintain the pressure well beyond that point. Brain death with no oxygen flow generally takes 6–8 minutes. This was not a momentary act. It was prolonged, deliberate, and horrific. What she did is monstrous. She deserves to be locked away for the rest of her life. None of this performative hand-wringing is about advocating for mothers who genuinely need help. Many of us have endured far worse conditions — with no help, no escape, critically ill family members, financial ruin, and relentless pressure — and we still did not murder our children. There is no plot lost! I have had three children back to back with a husband that was building his career on the road. My family didn’t live close & I didn’t trust babysitters. While, financially it wasn’t on me but everything else was so I understand postpartum. I have many best friends that had it severally. This plot you’re speaking of could change the outlook forever with women because this is NOT acceptable. If you need help you find help even after denied - you keep trying. Everyone who kills unless it is an accident (manslaughter like drunk driving) or self defense is a person that is mentally ill to kill anyone! This isn’t any different. I mean the fact that she is paralyzed may sway the jury. Life paralysis is a pretty heavy punishment. Most people would keep their legs and go to prison I’d wager. I think she’s guilty. Honestly I feel like she should not get life without. 20 to life is enough all things considered. One of my concerns is the father. Her succeeding in an insanity defense would likely HELP his case against the providers, who I believe did act negligently. Would I rather he get more of what he deserves and her get a little less ? I dunno. She could always finish what she started I suppose.
