This is just sad. California spends 8 to 10 times more on services for illegal immigrants than it does on veterans services from the General Fund. And now the legislature is trying to mislead the people of California with another Trojan horse ballot title by calling this Measure “Veteran and Affordable Housing Bond.” I voted no today because veterans should be prioritized in our budget. We should not have to pull a bond out during a record revenue year and a record budget. When the state spends over $10 billion on illegal immigrant services, including lawyer fees and medical healthcare, but only about $500 million on our veterans, we have a problem. Is it too hard to ask that we make sure every single veteran is off the street before providing services to individuals from other countries? Is it too much to ask that our veterans who fought for this country are provided more services and resources than individuals from other countries? Never let the state tell you we do not have enough money. What they really mean is that they just do not have enough money for you. Share, repost, vote, and save California.

It often happens that the state, with all its potential and resources, is by no means a veteran’s greatest source of support; nor is the community – and not even the person formally called a veteran’s assistant in a community or a veteran support specialist in a civilian hospital. Instead, it is another veteran, or an effective brigade patronage service, or some particular veteran community in a municipality or region. We need to direct state resources effectively and coordinate community resources. I expect this to be one of the key objectives of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. We need that science to be able to help families make better decisions for themselves and state governments because these are state driven issues usually, especially mandates to make those decisions more wisely.
